I run the second lane through urban areas because it's not safe changing lanes. When they start making roads that have the right lane STAY the right lane, I'll run it. But I'm not willing to run the right lane when it more than likely will become an exit lane. IMHO, I should be able to enter, traverse, and exit a city without ever changing lanes to stay in the right lane. Until then, when I enter the city, I'll be in the second lane.

Doing the speed limit (while ignoring the flow of traffic) doesn't justify your presence in your lane of choice.

The hazards on the road are the ones who drive slower than the pace of traffic while outside the right lane, causing others to have to make lane changes in order to pass them. And that goes double for the ones who camp in the left lane, forcing people to pass them on the right and potentially delaying emergency traffic.

I will do that as well but will get over when traffic comes up on me. Normally I will only do this at night to be honest when traffic is not bad.

If you are forcing traffic to pass you on the right , you are the biggest AH in that situation.
You are not on the road to physically enforce the speed limit. You must not willfully impede the flow of traffic

I understand what you are saying. We have a few back to back exits on the interstate locally near me where I will move out a lane during busy time instead of dealing with incompetent 4 wheelers however I move along with the pace of the traffic whatever it may be. I probably wouldn't do that in a governed truck though

Have you looked around when out there? You are not the only one on the road we share it with many !
Do as a good driver does, move over let traffic pass instead of causing congestion then move back over. It’s not really that hard to do and you would be surprised at how effective it is.

If you would’ve read what I replied to, I replied to a post saying they owned their truck and didn’t want to beat it up if the right lane is rough. I’m in the keep right except to pass group and believe if I’m passing someone on the right they’re in the wrong lane.

He bought a beat up Kenworth
    At a second hand lot
Didn't know how to drive it
    But he knew for sure
    That steering wheel
Felt good in his hands ...

Amother one that grinds my gears is when there is a 3 lane going over a mountain pass and left lane no trucks.. There's always some ####### that jumps out to the middle lane because he can run 30mph and wants to pass someone doing 28.... Meanwhile i am empty and can run over at the speed limit... Then somehow im the ####### for blowing there doors off in the left lane and laying on the air horn at doofus in the middle lane.

Wait until we are all governed at 65 mph and 1 guy can only go 64.7.
