If you got an email, probably 10,000 others got emails too. They probably do this 5 days a week. With mass random emailing like this, its a good possibility they do get 875 apps per day. Like others said, their email software is set up to reject any application that doesn't qualify.

That's like bragging that I pass 30,000 cars today & didn't hit any. Its true, but elementary. Its a slide of hand statement. Its true but doesn't really have any significance because probably 3 million other drivers passed 30,000 cars & didn't hit any of them.

There is a guy on Youtube going by the name of "Alex the trucking guy" who is working for GP Transco, and he seems to be probably the single most inexperienced driver in the world (if you believe the videos). Frankly, they seem a bit TOO 'produced' for just some kid to be doing in his sleeper on the road, and suspect that he has some sort of video production contract with GP Transco.

Having said that, they DO look like they use only premium equipment. I believe their fleet is 100% air-disc brakes and automatics.

There's never been a driver shortage. Mills pumping out cdl's everyday. There is however, a shortage of quality drivers.

Companies can make "advertising claims" that courts have ruled "nobody takes them serious". Like every bar can have a sign that says "coldest beer in town" or every new business can say "voted best furniture store in the state." Bars don't submit temp reports to some authority that analyzes the data and awards the phrase.

My favorite nothing line is "Our drivers make up to X per week/year, or more." X could be $1 million dollars and nobody making $35k per year can sue the company for not delivering on the promise. It's not a promise.

I'm sure they get that many applicants. GP is a fairly large company. They gotta make themselves look like the cream of the crop. Every company says you can make 90k per year. In reality, they are only using the sample size of the top 3 to 5 percent of the company to be able to advertise that. It's possible for an OTR driver to make a good living, but I think it's impossible for every single OTR driver to make these exorbitant numbers for a salary each year.

For all I know GP Transco belongs to s group of companies that use some online system that takes mini-applications that can be directed to any companies in the group. Also, trucking companies routinely lie, especially in ads. If they got so many applications they would not be emailing stranger to apply with them.

Only accepting 2% of applicants sounds real good until you realize that is the number that actually get hired - not the number they extend offers to.

In general you have to apply before you'll get any real answers on pay and benefits, so if that 30k number is real (it's not), but only 5k proceed to the next step, and 2k accept an orientation slot, but only 1k show up - that 2% "acceptance rate" doesn't sound so impressive.
