Hello,
I went to Schneider Academy in Green bay Wi. in January of '08, got my cdl, tanker, and hazmat. Drove for them for 6 months and quit on good terms. I went back to another company i worked for but have been driving a class b truck, so i do not have any current class a experience. Ive found places that hire to train with no cdl, or ones that want as little as 6 months current experience but no one that will hire and offer some sort of refresher course. Any ideas on companies i can try or am i just out of luck till the economy picks up?
Looking to drive but no recent experience

Well, I just got off the phone with a recruiter from Werner. Offered me a regional position, 1 day off for every 6 worked. Have to go to Indianapolis for 2 day orientation, then 140 hours out with a trainer, then get a truck. Any scoop on Werner good or bad?

I have total 10 years experience in trucking, clean record, no wrecks no tickets, i left trucking a year ago to attend college full time, so ill be out of trucking a total of 2 years, now if i decided to go back after i get my degree (geology) will any trucking company hire me? since i have no trucking experience in the past 2 years? but i do have a total of 10 years exerience in my life all concurrent from 2000 to 2010. (basically i was self employed went out of business and decided that the economy sucked so bad with trucking that i might as well go to college until economy gets better then i may get back into trucking) I dont really want to return to trucking, but once it gets in your blood it is in there and i miss it
Just wanted to know if the trucking companies would screw me over since i would have no recent experience in 2 years.

Maverick does not require recent or a refresher.
