I'm wanting to know Swift's policy on inverters and their idle policy. I've heard the idle policy is hard to meet and I was just wondering what Swift drivers do to stay warm in the winter and more importantly to me cool in the summer. Does anyone know have many watts your inverter has to be to run a tv and ps3?

you cannot have a inverter wired into the truck. You have to use one that plugs into the power outlets. You can get some that have alot of watts for cheap money.
I am on a dedicated account and we have to keep idle to 10%. I am in new england and when it gets really cold we don't shut the trucks off so the fuel will recycle and not gel. If it is above 20 degrees we shut the trucks off.
The trucks have a wabasco heater that runs off of diesel. It keeps the truck warm.
We run at night and sleep during the day so when summer comes I will idle the truck so I can run ac and keep cool. worry about my idle percentage when the time comes. -
okay I was just wondering if what Swift says when it's 90 outside and you idle? I mean it's not like the office peoples house with be 90 while they re sleeping. Also does anyone know what size inverter I need to run a tv and ps3 or xbox 360?

Get caught with any inverter of any type in a Swift truck you will be fired. That is what my mentor has told me from day 1.
The Wasco heaters will burn you out of the trucks! The truck I am in doesn't really need heat until it drops into the lower 40's. This KW is well insulated. I have been told the older company trucks they won't fix the thermostats on the Wabascos. So you may have to open the windows or vents because they get too hot.
I think the idle was 30% last month. Looking for less as things warm up.
