Theres a guy that knows bikes! I was a motorcycle mechanic when I was younger for many years but gave it up in the late 80's, got tired of being laid off all winter. Worked at a Kawasaki,Yamaha, Honda shop. Kawasaki's are my favorite. I ALWAYS have a shop full of them.
Right now have an 81, KZ750, a 76 KE100, and 2 projects, a 78 KZ1000 and a 71 A1SS Scrambler that I'm collecting parts for to restore.
Recently sold a gaggle of Kawasaki mini bikes, and myb03 Vulcan Nomad, I bought that smashed and did a bunch of powder coating and extra chrome on it, my friend Larry did an amazing Candy red with ghost flames paint job on it.
Cant get enough bikes... I have the disease...
Bikes are the most fun you can have with your clothes on!jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, CAXPT and 10 others Thank this. -
Got the truck put back together and cooling system bled out. Took er for a 40 mile round trip and doesnt seem to be using anymore coolant ... Now lets see if i can actually put some decent trips together without problems... Havent had any momentum this year at all and its already half over..

Had a KE100. Back when we called them “Enduros” That bike was a lot of fun to run around on. Street bikes tended to be Kawasaki or Yamaha. Only had 2 Hondas, the 750 and a CB400. The 400 was a really good bike. So overlooked. Actually liked it better as a cafe racer than the RD’s. On the A1SS, Rotory valves! They were a reliable ride, pretty quick too!Last edited: Jun 19, 2023

Got it all booked in for the inspection and was just finishing up a few loose ends when I popped the main fuse again. Main harness was rubbed through where it runs from the main frame up into the headlight. Fixed that, tightened the chain up, took it for a rip up and down the driveway. Come back and the left carb was pissing fuel out everywhere. Dropped the bowl and found out someone missed an o-ring off the diaphragm pump on the carb. Stuffed a generic one in and all good so far.jamespmack, cke, singlescrewshaker and 7 others Thank this.

If the carbs give anymore issue hit me up and I'll get the brand of carb kits I've been buying online. Way better then what honda offers. Comes with everything...
Motorcycles do not respond well to hamfisted mechanics that's for darn sure. Designed by ninjas, for ninjas to fix.

That'd be awesome. I plan on rebuilding both carbs once riding season is done. A shop nearby has an ultrasonic cleaner so will get them all cleaned up.
One thing I learned is that apparently my model year is unique in that it uses different jets than the rest of its production run. All the gaskets and seals are apparently the same though.singlescrewshaker, cke, Feedman and 3 others Thank this. -
Reminder, what bike did you get?jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 1 other person Thank this.
