When I installed the accessory drive the cam gear “0” and crank gear “0”, weren’t aligned. I don’t think those two can be aligned and have the hash marks on the cam gear line up with the punch marks on the accessory drive, all at the same time. This is where it sets now and I’ve put some pieces of green tape where “0’s”, hash marks and punch marks are.
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Did you happen to find out anything on the timing procedure?
-
On a big cam you set the accessory drive pulley to the "A" mark
Set the timing mark on the compressor gear at 10:00, looking at it from the front
Not sure if it's different on a small cam -
It will all line up....eventually. I forget how many revolutions it takes, but it's a bunch, to get them all to line up.
-
So I need to pull the accessory drive back off and rotate the engine?
-
No, it's lined up
Not possible to have the crank and acccesory marks next to each other at the same timeIH9300SBA Thanks this. -
Sorry for the delay….
mile marker 27 Thanks this. -
No....you're golden as is.
They will all line up but it takes several dozen revolutions to do so. -
I never had the accessory drive took apart at the split they’re showing. My red mark shows where the manual says to time it and I took loose at the yellow marks.
