It's weird. I wouldn't cut hoppers rate's with people I don't understand. But they'll leave or just blend in. I know most here blend in just fine. And yes I speak both languages and understand both sides of the issue. But keep on trucking guys.

Oklahoma came out with some really tough anti immigration laws last year. So the illegals all had to get out of there in a hurry. I guess with the Ks beef industry out west, and an already large mexican population in Garden and Dodge cities it was just a natural progression. I am told Ks even has a program to help non English speaking people get their CDL's. Nice huh!!!

The Mexi's have #### near taken over the wheat mids at Cargil, and they are quickly expanding. A few months back I watched a few of them roll out of Halstead at well over 100K. For the first time in my life I was tempted to call the DOT and report them. I didnt, but I was very VERY tempted!

It wasn't anything against you Luis. They originally came to Kansas because of the meat packing plants. Since then they are becoming the majority of the people out there. At least the last 5 years they have been expanding into trucking. It is really hard to compete against them and their rates.

They aren't the only ones who do it for sure. It's like a bidding war in reverse, low bid wins. The low bid being the lower rates.

I'm surprised any elevator would load that heavy. In an accident their butts would be sued too. Cargill won't load any heavier than 85,500 period. ADM elevators won't load more than 80,000. Halstead has grain hauled by TMA normally.

I looked at the scale printer. All 3 trucks were over 100K I couldn't believe it. The driver kept telling him to load more, more lol. He finally told the guy no way, and thinks he planned on filling that high side completely up with corn. :biggrin_25524: The one guy who did speak English told him it was his first day Ever driving a truck. Unbelievable!
