Denver has a few of those guys who think they own the channel, thats why I have XM radio. Arguing with the base station guys has one useful purpose, if you are feeling a little sleepy--a good argument with one of them will get your blood flowing and wake you right up. Works for me anyway

all the world is the same, here in italy we have a few annoing us, the worst one is called paolino and can be heard for more than 30 miles. He never shuts up and tells us that he is our god and that we are rejects. a tv station found his home following the cb signal and tried to interview him,he trowed stuff at the camera and called the cops. By the way he is an old guy that probably had a stupid and boring life.

I,in no means "claimed" that frequencies used by drivers are "exclusive" to truckers,,,,most of you got that..nobody has any "ownership" of the CB channels. I've had good conversations with home base units(kids, interested in the life),,,so I'm not saying they are not welcome,,,,it's just ironic, that instead of using a frequency that is quiet, these guys babble on with senseless dribble,,,,,,as if many drivers don't do enough of that already,,,

I was running through the Bronx today and I was listening to "salsa" (spanish) music on channel 19. WTF... When I complained, you know what I was called....

What were you called? A racist? And if the channel was tied up by someone playing music, how did you manage to complain?

Yea, I'm a racist. You jerk, if I just said "music" then you would of said that the guy was wrong to tie up 19. BUT because I said "salsa" you pull the race card. Bite me.

Whoa whoa there....before you start showing your immaturity in spades by calling me names, re-read my question. I didn't say you were a racist. I was asking you if someone else (whoever it was that was playing the music) called you one because you said:

And I never said whoever was playing Salsa was right for tying up the channel. No he/she was not. Not supposed to tie up the channel with your music.

Channel 19, and before that channel 10 were used by truckers for trucker info, bear reports, accidents, other problems or information that were highway related or just shooting crap between other drivers. We all know that the FCC didn't dedicate the channel but all know that it's what it's used for. Base stations that tie up the channel with nonsensical transmissions just want to show they have a big radio and can blanket the channel. I guess they're trying to justify their investment in the equipment. The best way to deal with it is just don't talk to them, let them think they're not even getting out. Don't respond at all and act like you don't even hear them, that pisses them off more than anything.
