That clicking sound is coming from the box that says: Main PNDB I find out when over torqued it will make that sound...I torqued mine to 25Nm (I’m talking about the nuts holding the black box) check in your manual it will give you the correct torque for your truck.
Make sure ground wires and power wires are not loose.

Just went through this, for a few months sometimes truck would click a few times then start, and sometime would spin the starters ### off not engaging the Bendix. Today was the day lol.
I already had a starter ready for it, put it on and same #### issue. Go to the solenoid on passenger side firewall and jump it across with a screw driver it rolls the starter over. this is a 2003 9400i, cummins. The starter was in pretty rough shape, but that symptom was 100% the firewall solenoid. Just thought I’d add to this threadQUALITYTRUCK, Heavyd and shatteredsquare Thank this. -

I have a 1999 Kenworth T 2000 was starting fine and now just making a clicking noise. Replaced two air fitting for the high and low gear on the top of the transmission now it doesn't start. Checked battery's, have power to starter, fuses, relays, even put a switch to starter and can't get it to do anything.

I found and solve the issue on cascadia. It was a loose cable on the starter.
Heavyd Thanks this.
