Thank God for Tenstreet Driver Pulse, i'm up to 43 active applications haha.
apparently there's two Oakleys that run tanks, applied for both as well as Clean harbors

Thanks! their amenities are impressive. Applied.

Thanks! Just finished applying with John N John. Will take a break and look into the other two.

Clean Harbors will be a long, slow process. It’s worth it in the end though. I’ve been here four years as a company driver. I have no intentions of leaving anytime soon.

Robbie D Wood will bring you on as company or O/O

Western International Gas will hire you at there Birmingham yard for company driver.

Messer in Birmingham is always hiring!

Some LTT carriers around your area might be worth a try.

I applied for Wynne about 2 months ago, but they never followed up. Just shot them another App just in case.

I'll let ya know if they reach out to me, perhaps I could use you as a reference so that you could get a bonus :)

NGL, I've been adamant on trying to get on with Robbie since April. Applied 3 times, Called their "Driver Recruiting" extension 6 times business hours they never pickup. I'll probably drop by their Terminal and introduce myself in person when I update my hazmat after the 4th of July.

Going to shoot Western International & Messer an app right now :)

I keep thinking the problem must be me, but on paper I should be an ideal candidate. Recruiters have sent copies of DAC reports and Background checks. All my former companies have me set to "Eligible for Rehire: Yes" and "Job Performance: Satisfactory" So I didn't burn any bridges per se. Zero documented accidents. Passed several DOT inspections.

I thought it could be the Cat holding me back, but recruiters would have reached out first in which I would have addressed their pet policy, as it's never been asked on but like 3 of the +50 applications I've submitted.

It's probably just slow in tankers due to the economy as @Chinatown has confirmed. I've applied for 6 Reefer companies as suggested.

This is just a speculation but being unemployed and watching the news, there's been so many train derailments this year, it's Terrifying. A common denominator seems to be overloaded trains causing the derails. I actually had a chat with a recruiter out of East Palestine, Ohio, he was talking about how hard it would be for a train engineer to see several miles back if a car's brakes were on fire.

It had me wondering--again this is just speculation--why would they be overloading trains which reduce trucker loads? I know the railroad industry is heavily unionized, and is receiving subsidies from the current administration. Did Covid play a role in this?

Anyways, I'll keep my nose on the grindstone and continue to hammer out applications. I just wanted to Thank Everyone for your input. You have all helped me out tremendously! :) Keep the shiny side up! Be Safe! God Bless! and Happy 4TH Of JULY Week! :usa2: :diabloanifire:

Just a thought...Don't mention that your cat is an ESA animal. Don't put it in your applications and don't mention it in interviews. Just tell them that you have a cat that goes trucking with you. That's all you need to say.
There's no driver shortage and anything that pulls HR's focus, especially pertaining to the kind of thing that ESA covers, will usually get your app round filed.
There's too many squeaky clean drivers with no psychological attachment to an animal to take a chance on something HR isn't familiar with.
I know that's harsh but it's the way things work.
    Best of luck to you.

I agree with @Arctic_fox if you’re willing to give an end dump a try you should. You’re in a great place for it, I bring rock back to Florida from west alabama sand and stone, they’re right there in Fayette, last time I was there they had a few help wanted notes in the scale house. I also saw an ad for an O/O looking for an end dump driver out of alabama on the US Bulk site, that would be a good foot in the door, even if it takes some time to get your truck back on the road.

Right, if you mention the ESA card, you probably won't be hired.
Companies won't say that because it's illegal, but will find other ways to not hire you.
You have a pet cat, period. Nothing else.
