Yep. Just not something I saw much, but a bunch of my work after 04 was road service. So things would get checked/cleaned at a truck stop with an all clear bill of health.
First knoll they rolled up on and they were back in the same predicament, and I'd get a call. All the ones i checked (maybe 5, 6) had zero PSI and a broken shaft.
Appreciate the input

Vent is gonna be the small 3/8 line. Shunt line is 1” and comes off back of water pump to top tank. That vent line is commonly stopped up. Also be sure to check the barb it goes on coming outta thermostat housing. It’s apt to be plugged there as anywhere.
If the top hose and bottom hose of radiator are close to same temp when hot that’s an indication that you don’t have enough radiator as is taking a while to cool downRideandrepair, AMC500, Big Road Skateboard and 2 others Thank this. -
This morning I had 209 at the top of a pull and so I checked the top and bottom hoses and it was 205 and 215.

Temps close like that is what you want to see as far as it says you have flow and the cooling system is doing what it should. What the issue is is high temps, that says the system is doing all it can but needs more capacity. Causes can be no or low air flow across the front or the fins themselves detaching from the tubes in the radiator not dispersing the heat properly to needs a bigger radiator all together. So the first two you can check, if all good there I would be doing serious research on a radiatorRideandrepair, bjytech, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

Thank you for the feedback! I have contacted Kenworth to find out exactly what I believe you suggested earlier. Radiator requirements for new engine compared to current radiator. I will do more research and looking at the current radiator as well to see if there is anything that is visibly wrong on the exterior of the radiator.Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this.

We had an acert that the alarm would come on when it wasn’t even hot and it was a sensor. Have you verified it is actually getting hot?
-
He's used a laser temperature gun and it doesn't show anywhere got enough for the lights to be on but makes him nervous.

A boost leak will cause one to run hot as well.

He's checked air to air and all hoses pyrometer only gets 800-900
