I’ve seen low pyro post turbo readings and have a cracked air to air. I usually plug the turbo inlet off put a 15 lb regulator on shop air plumed in on left side and air up everything at once spray it all down twice.
I don’t mean this in a negative way or manner. I cannot tell you how many times I have had guys call and quiz me on my thoughts with this or that problem. I got through my list and hear checked that, checked that, checked that, etc. then they throw parts at it and it’s no better so it lands at my place. Right off the bat I find 1 to 3 concerns of this won’t pass but they checked it.
My point to that is sometimes you need to stop and start over from the very beginning like it’s a brand new problem you haven’t yet looked at. Do the entire diagnostic process again cuz you missed something. I have had to do that myself. Here it seems you’re throwing good money after bad throwing parts at it. Again just a suggestion I do not in any way mean anything negative by it

No I agree he has spent a small fortune throwing parts at it he will have to start checking everything again thanks.
Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this. -
Using this spot as it was an easy no leak (two shutoffs on the heater line) I only got about 1-3psi at idle and 12psi at around 1200rpm. Is this an okay spot to check?

I was also wrong the fan is about 24.5” and it could fit about a 29” or so.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Yes that is the direct outlet of the water pump.
That pressure is low, but there is a confusing issue here. That should also put the top tank of radiator farther apart temp wise from the bottom. As it is a low flow situation. My advice is do not run out and buy a pump and backing plate and install it. I say pull your pump pull the backing plate and inspect. Look in the bottom hose to radiator for an obstruction as that limits water pump intake. Pull the snout your gauge is in from cooler check front of cooler for debris that won’t affect pressure but you’re there.AModelCat, Big Road Skateboard, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
That will drain the coolant and I don’t have time to do that but I will definitely be continuing with trying to diagnose this. I appreciate the help as I have learned a lot from this already. What is the typical coolant capacity of these trucks, roughly of course as there are a lot of factors? So when I do go to do this I can refill with new stuff.wore out Thanks this.

My Pete will be around 10 gallon. I have never been around the C500 but it should be closeAMC500 Thanks this.

Driver was only making suggestions, if your radiator is still looking good even if it is 7 years old then no you don't need to replace it, like you said if it has been well maintained and the water has not corroded the core, fins or tank yes you may be fine, however it is a process of elimination really, so yes if the truck is getting hot I'd check the radiator first, the coolant, the fan, are you running hills, mountains under load the temps will generally run much hotter, thermostat, is your haughton fan working? The haughton fan usually kicks in around the 210 ° f (100 °c) mark, this very well may be the cause, as while your running at highs speeds it usually fine, once you slow down to around 35 mph or go up a hill its only heating up then my money's on the haughton fan clutch is gone.AMC500 Thanks this.

Radiator is not ruled out yet. I live in Washington state so yes a lot of hills or even mountains. I pulled Blewett pass yesterday and the day before empty just pulling a tilt deck trailer at 60 mph which is moving pretty good for a pass that is 4100ft and still got up to 215 as I crested the top even though the fan was on manually from the bottom. It would have kept climbing if the mountain did. I just want to be sure as previously stated as to find the problem not throw parts at it. I’m not looking for the cheapest solution just the correct solution. I will be replacing the coolant and while doing so looking for blockages like wore out suggested.

DID YOU CLEAN EVERYTHING BETWEEN THE CONDENSER, CHARGE COOLER AND RADIATOR?
THE AMOUNT OF CRAP THAT ACCUMULATES BETWEEN THE UNITS IS AMAZING AND CAN CAUSE A LOT OF OVERHEATING PROBLEMS.
