No idea what you’re referring to. I was just stating something about a D13 many don’t know and my personal experience with one.

What is wrong with a cold start? Engines are made to withstand it without an issue. The issue is if you try and drive before it warms up enough I guess but Volvos will not allow you to go over what it cannot handle in the winter.

Warm up? After you start it and the air pressure is built up to 125 psi it's ready to go, mash on it. I used to warm the C15 in my '03 KW to minimum 161* F before rolling for fear of sinking a liner. These modern trucks, turn the key on and mash on the go pedal as hard as you please if the air pressure is there. They don't need warm up. But yeah APU's do a good job of keeping the engine warm.

    Or
It's called a material property, and temperature is a big part of it. The cold start is harmful to the engine no matter how it's built.

I guess I have never seen an issue from a cold start on my trucks. Maybe that is a thing on the older trucks since they did not have all the sensors on them to control what the engine is doing.

You might not see it immediately, but you'll see it later one way or another, if you keep the truck long enough. The temperature probably is the biggest enemy for the engine and the truck itself if properly maintained.

Maybe someone will see it I guess. I will not own a truck past warranty any more so not to worried about it to be honest. The only issue with cold starts in my eyes is the batteries working harder. But of course with Volvo new engines they run on VDS5 Oil so not even an issue turning the truck over. The older trucks running that heavy oil is a problem for sure.

So now you are like the megas, that's what they do. But for me with my old truck it's a different story. Everything matters.

Now how would I be like the mega's? Because I want to drive a new truck since the cost is no different then running a used truck? I do everything that is needed to take care of my trucks way better than any mega would do. I will have to look it up but I bet my idle time is less then 5 percent for the life time of the truck and more then likely 1-3 percent. PM service is done on time every time and greased every 15-20K. I also use a fuel treatment in every tank of fuel I run through the truck.

Anyone that gets this truck after I am done with it will have one of the best used trucks on the market.

I've just meant you don't plan to keep it after its warranty expires.
