    Hi Everyone
First post here. I have a few questions regarding the process of getting hired by one of the major carriers. I have about 8 years OTR verifiable experience.
and several years in the early 90's with a class 5 pulling Mobile homes. one minor non DOT reportable accident in the last year.. how will this, if at all effect me getting hired?.

I already have a current Dot physical. will I have to get another one at orientation?
I was a owner operator for the last 5 years.. sold the truck in December:biggrin_25518: and was hoping to pay the bills with my side work. this is not working out.
Will I be required to have a trainer Ride with me for the first few weeks/month??

    Thank you.

Hi and welcome. The accident is just that, an accident. Report it no matter how small and unimportant you think it is. If you don't then that will look very bad. Yes you will need a new physical. Doesn't matter if you just got one the day before orientation they will want you to do another one. On there dime. They will give you a road test. Do it straight out of the book. Just like you did when you got out of school. Doesn't matter how you did it as an O/O or how drivers really do it. There are things we do that will make you flunk a road test and then your done. Also remember that you will be working FOR them. Which means that you will have to do things there way. No matter if you like it or not or if you know a better way. They have there rules and there way and will expect you to do it that way. All part of running for some one else.

If your verifiable experience is within the last 1-3 years, depending on the companies requirement, then no you shouldn't have to.
