Had a run in with one like that long ago. Came right up to my boots, DNR told me it probably had K9 Stemper and to kill it….

 

1988, the year my daughter was born.

Pops shaker I drove, 1977 model with later model hood. Hot KT450 / 13 / 3:90 / 24.5 / and yes bumper guides - rookie poles- candle sticks - chicken sticks.

Pop never owned a hood without them….

 

Does not wanting to rip up your equipment make you a rookie? My company has always had them on every single truck with a hood. Some how guys still manage to run the bumpers into stuff though.

Only reason I don't use them is because my hood mirrors are the corners of the truck and also allow me to look straight down the fender to see my tire on the ground.

bumper [ buhm-per] a metal guard, usually horizontal, for protecting the front or rear of a truck
Usage: "I used my bumper to bump things out of the way when making my turn"

 

And BTO had at least a 3 color paint job and custom hand pinstripes. Many those trucks were all pretty back then.
