    It is sad to hear. I'm out of Dayton, so far we have had five UE drivers. Not sure what the plans are. Hopefully, it is temporary and they all get their jobs back soon.

    Seems all these pensions aren't a guarantee retirement at all but a way to keep someone around for long with empty promises?

    Anyone who solely relies on a pension to maybe be there is gambling with their livelihood. I look at it as something extra to have if it’s there someday. I plan my retirement as if it doesn’t exist

    The way I’m seeing it right now, there is no such thing as retirement if you still have a mortgage or any kind of housing expenses.

    That’s why for some of us it simply won’t be in the cards.

    A word to the wise. Marry the RIGHT one, or don’t marry at all.

    We are close in age. I’m not sure I even want to retire. I don’t want to be forced into working either. But, who knows. That may change in the next 20-25 years.
