Thinking about team, what's a good team company?

I thought you were driving for Helwig? I take it that didn’t go well.

 

I would stick with dry van over reefer, all things being equal. Reefer always had many more load/unload delays and fewer drop and hooks. Some of the dry van carriers have done a good job prioritizing teams to keep them moving. LTL would be the best, if you don't mind the doubles. Traditional outfits first, but it seems like there are always Fedex Ground guys looking for teams and they can offer some pretty attractive deals.

 

Team driving is a bit like trying to share an apartment with a total stranger, you don't know what kind of habits they have, how clean they are, what their personality is like, which is why there are so many issues even when a new company driver has to go out on the road with a trainer. Which is why some of the best team combos are husband and wife after all they know each other well and that's why they got married, and are still hopefully happily married. I would of thought two brothers could do team successfully or maybe father and son combo too. Or just two really good buddies. Sharing a cab with someone every day of the week is going test out even the most humble and meek personalities. All the best future team driver.

 

Team company? Look in North Carolina, they seem to have a few that fall under the radar. Hardy Brothers, WLA, Cooke, all come to mind.
