I am looking for a quality company from a drivers point of view, and am hoping if your reading this you can let me know what you think of yours.
I drove in the US for 5 years, and now that I am back home living in Canada, I am looking at finding a company to work for. I have mostly flat bed experiance, however, I am looking at all possabilities.
I had to let my CDL go after I moved back home to canada, and am in the process of getting my AZ thru Crossroads Driving Academy here in Ottawa. It is more of a refresher course for me than anything, however, I am going to be out of the school in roughly two weeks and am trying to set something up so I can pretty much go right into a truck after I am done.
I have no DUIs, and 0 points off my CVOR, 3 points off my G1.
I started by going thru a driving school with PAM transport (six months), went to Western Express (Nashville, Tn) in their dry van division, then went to their flatbed division(Birmingham, Al) (3.5 years total) and then went to Buddy Moore Trucking (1year before moving home to canada).
I am looking for a company that will get home every 7-10 days, run to the south east US more frequently than anywhere else, however, I will run anywhere.
I would prefer Flatbed, however, I will run whatever if the money is right, and the home time is decent.
Thanks for your time.

How far away do you want work to be from your house?
Cooney out of Bellville is a large flatbed carrier. Mackinnon out of Guelph is also a large flatbed carrier.
hope this helps. -

that one is close to where I live.
and even further away from riger, but none the less, a very good company. 100% reefer.
Actually, they might have a terminal in Montreal. I am not 100% sure. -
what can you tell me about them... are they just in canada, or do they run to the US as well?

I'm a wannabe so I don't have first hand info. I just happened to remember reading about their award for safety, so I looked them up on line. Click on the urls I posted. Good luck!

They run U.S. They have a terminal in Pa. I believe.
Yes they run an impressive place from what I observe. My uncle retired from there several years ago.
They do deliveries with single axle straight trucks, to over the road with tractor trailers.
I would check out their site efor more info. -
nothing over the road near my house..

Lots of good outfits in your area
Check out SCHOONER in Ottawa flatbed / tanker outfit lots of work , ERB is a good company , Ottawa yard off Colonade / Merivale rd area . -
Thanks for the info,.. I sent Schooner an email to find out a bit more.. Honestly, I am not interested in driving a straight truck, and that is all ERB offers in Ottawa.
Kriska is too far at Prescott which would be an hour to drive to the truck and an hour to drive home from the truck.
However, it is great for all the feedback,.. dont stop now, keep it coming.. any info I can get on any company here would be great.
Does anyone know about Tripple K in Stittsville?? Where are their running lanes.. how do they treat their drivers??
thanks in advance.
