Let's hear them, because it isn't on FNC, NR, MSNBC, or CNNs front page, so there's plenty of space on the political spectrum that isn't splashing this in front of everyone's faces.

I think Yellow freight problems started when they decided to paint the trucks orange.
Jubal Early Times, Sirscrapntruckalot and PSM379 Thank this. -
I was a union employee, as was my father grandfather, numerous uncles, cousins etc. Teamsters, UAW, Machinists, fire, police, and teachers. I would take umbrage with your sentimentsdancecanyon and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
-
its not meant to be offensive.. its just been my experience with most union employees... like i said not all of them are like that.. just the majority of the ones i met... no reason to take offense to it.
-
i am not old enough to know anything about how unions used to be run back in the day when they were every job and industry...
LTL Bull Thanks this. -
I understand that but the constant blaming of the union is intellectually dishonest. ABF and UPS function under the same rules and contribute more towards HW&P and are profitable. The Teamsters bent over backwards to help Yellow and what sunk the company was gross mismanagement from Dollar Bill Zollars forward. The unions never represented more than about 35% of the workforce. Not understanding the history of the trucking industry and unions is rampant. Everyone wants to cast blame on the teamsters and unions but they are part and parcel of our current standard of livingdancecanyon, jamespmack, Dflip and 1 other person Thank this.

I've worked in 2 union shops. One was decent, the other wasn't as great.

i dont think i was blaming the unions for anything. i dont know anything about them. other then the fact that everytime i have ever done business with anything union.. its is the most wtf disorganized cluster f of a place filled with employees who dont give 2 ####s about anything and have the most disgusting attitudes towards anybody that is not apart of their club... like i said this is my own experience i have seen with my own eyes.. your experience may be different...Coffey, LTL Bull, LoneRanger and 2 others Thank this.

In this type of business where politics and favoritism are rampant, I think a good union with their priorities in order could still have a place and a purpose if the mindset is to keep management honest.
However, statements like the one @road_runner made a day or three ago in regards to a shop steward that didn’t feel like doing extra paperwork make me question that sentiment.
If that’s how union personnel operate, what good would they be when it comes to something crucial?Texas_hwy_287, Gearjammin' Penguin, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ve pretty much found this to hold true in the big cities, but with fortunately some level of sanity still holding up out in the rural areas.
