His years in trucking in the heading says it all. Crete is like all of the other truckload carriers in that they don't want anyone around that has topped out in the cpm category.
New guys making less cpm are gonna get the miles. In a nutshell, the guy with 2yrs. is alot cheaper to run than the guy with 5yrs.

while that may be true, that it's cheaper UP FRONT to pay a newer guy, i am at the top of crete's scale, and consistently get 26-2800 miles/week.
while 400 miles/day isn't alot, it works for me in this obamaconomy.
i have heard a lot of BAD things about the terminal mgr in SLC, tho.knighton5 Thanks this. -
I am getting over 2500 a week regularly I don't know how many others are getting and can only speak from my own personal experience.
knighton5 Thanks this. -
I can only say what I've been getting, I'm sure there are a lot of drivers below my pay rate in the company. Some people just like to always see the bad, I prefer to just stay positive.

Crete is one of the BEST, enough said. If you find better, please post it here. PLEASE POST IT HERE! Thank You.
and I dont even drive for them anymore.
-
I fell your pain there is alot of companys that are doing that right now.

Same here Knighton5. I worked there in 2009 and my miles weren't stellar but I averaged 9000 a month. My trainer is at the top of the pay scale and he still gets around 3600 a week and that is without a student in the other seat.
Don't forget 400 miles is for 7 days by these calculations on this thread. That means no sitting. It just goes to show you that some people cry about sitting for days, others cry about not runnung 600+ miles a day.
TRUCKERS: Crying is NOT a form of excersise!! -
Does he have another job lined up already?

My husband started at Crete on March 8th in Columbus Ohio. There were five other drivers starting that day and he was the only newbie. All the other drivers had 2 to 5 year experience. All but one were offer jobs and in their trucks on Wed. March 10th. My husband's trainer was there on Wednesday also and they hit the road and been running ever since.
This forum has a lot of information for anyone looking to get into trucking; all you have to do is pore the information through a strainer to get rid of the BS and form a picture of how a company treats its drivers. I also credit this site for keeping us from falling victim to large company CDL mills.
If you are thinking about going to Crete read the thread under good trucking companies by Evertrucker titled: Crete a year in review. It has a lot of great information.

Just to throw it out there; a trainer and trainee on super solo did approximately 10500 miles in two and half weeks.
