Pre-trip inspections are a great thing, if you actually do one, but it also helps if you half ### know what you should be looking for in the first place.

I’m convinced a lot of DOT intentionally pick newer Trucks. The reason being they don’t want to be responsible for a passed inspection where they missed something and be held at fault. I can’t say as I blame them, considering how the blame game works. My first Truck was 4 yrs old. Fresh paint, looked like new. I left the little sticker from the dealer on the vent window. Got inspected 3 times, in 3 weeks. Took the sticker off. No more inspections. Less compliments on the Truck over the CB from kind Drivers also. Lol.

Down here in these parts so close to old Mex the Dot bears will go after newer and cleaner trucks and pass up the junk. The reason why and we have been told by friends who are connected is the guys driving the sketchy junk WILL NOT pay the fines. They have nothing to give or lose so they would rather spend the time in jail costing the taxpayers and state money. The other guys with new and clean stuff WILL pay the state the money for the fines.
