If your idle time is too high or you aren't hitting your fuel stops someone will call you. The trucks new drivers see will most likely be older so don't get your hopes up for a newer ride. Take whatever you get, get fixed what needs fixen and run as hard as you can on every load and you'll make money.

sucks that all state got to rip you off as well.... i went to that school. i learned a lot, a lot more then 99% of the other students going through all the other 3 week mills,
as for miles, you can get miles anywhere... not just out of this area... they do have a " short line " gig that you would run the North East, from Va all the way up to Ma. and points in between. its hard, stress full nerv ending work. but it pays by the mile and stop, each stop you make you get paid $20 bucks, sooo if you do, lets say, 25 stops in one week, thats $500 bucks just in stops, plus, lets say, 1700 miles # .27cpm ( newb pay) thats $459 in miles, 459+500=959/weekly before taxes...
in the event you do apply here, and they see your from Philly, just prepare to have them ask you to do these runs as a full time gig,,, the bonus is that youll be home every weekend, they will tell you once a week too, but i did it for a year and only ever saw home on the weekends, and most of the time it was only for a 34hr reset, but that was because of my kinda-sorta dedicated run... also they used to pay a whole hell of a lot more then they do now, so it was worth it....
you dont have to take that run, im just suggestion that it may be something for you to look into... and being home every weekend is 100% the truth...
ill PM you me email, you cant reply to me on here, but you can email me on my private email....
take care... good luck on your state tests... -
thanks warp for answering his questions....and speaking which, how is that auto of yours??? its good that your in an auto... old people should be in autos.... next ill see a handicap plak hanging in your truck and youll be parked right up front... -

Heck, I still haven't even MADE it to my truck yet...sitting in Sparks, NV at the Petro at the moment...we have a set in stone delivery time of 7am tomorrow, so we haven't been running hard at all. About 350 yesterday, which I drove, and only 131 today....we will be leaving about midnight or so to get there a couple hours early....I may get too used to the auto and the APU and not want to give it up for a 10 speed! As for the handicap placard, if they handed them out for crazy, you'd be at the top of the list and I'd be right behind you....You should come out this way, to me it's freaking cold...was 26 this morning, but accu weather said it felt like 14! Wind chill and all....we got a little snow on the hood this morning.
You tell 'em rednek!
Oh, as for my "Trucker?" status, I don't know if I should leave it as student, or change it to 0-1 year since I am driving and getting paid for it, if only team mileage... -
I realize people probably ask these questions all the time, maybe someone should take the first post and do a general Q&A on this company, so any newbie who signs up sees it will read that and have their questions answered before they ask.
I sure would not have asked any of those questions if maybe they were not 200 pages deep.
And even if the answers were not what I wanted to hear, I realize that nothing is perfect. I have a very limited choice as to what companies accept new CDL drivers, I chose the company I found did not have a crappy reputation and that people seemed to be happy to work for. Stupid Me.... -

seriously, any questions you have post and me and the others will answer no matter how many times the same questions are asked... i didnt mean any harm... -
.... im just sayin...Warpdrvr Thanks this. -
