If a driver gets every endorsement, fast card and twic card and whatever else there is to get would it be like applying for a job with a master degree you would be most likely to get a job faster then someone with just airbrake?? Is that how trucking works my friend keeps telling just get everything

get everything my friend. I think the twic card is only if you want to haul containers in and out of ports. I think. Endorcements are hazmat, doubles/triples, tank (you won't haul this being a rookie. At least I hope not), and passenger if you want to drive a bus.

    It varies...

Except maybe HAZMAT, it's really easy to get endorsements, but having experience is what really matters. The endorsements just make you legal and open more employment opportunities, but just having endorsements isn't like a "master's degree."

But yeah, get everything you can.

I couldn't agree more with those who say that getting all of the endorsements, and your passport (or enhanced driver's license in the states where this exists) is a 'very good thing' (apologies to Martha Stewart). Call it 'marketability'. It demonstrates to an employer that you are interested in available opportunities and are ready to hit the bricks running. Then, when hired, you will need to prove it:biggrin_255:

There is a lot more than just containers coming into the ports. Groceries & steel just to name a couple.

I have a CDL-A with H endorsement. What I plan on doing; working for a small-medium company does not require the doubles and triples right away. Companies like Swift, CR England, Fed EX, Wilson, Saia can require doubles. Due to situation, I get each endorsement as I need them. Would I like all of them? Sure but do I need all? Not in my current situation.
