Will we got a load going out. But does not leave until 1200 noon tomorrow Sunday. going to Virginia.
So still just hanging out. Spinning my wheels.jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
Well got going 2 trips in the bag! working on the 3rd one. My co driver is having a power trip. Why is it that these truck driver get a few months under there belt and start having a power trip. Man what a pain. My truck, My way, This way.
We got to do this 6 months before going solo. A co driver is hard to find. I got a 45 year old guy on his 4Th month as been threw four team co drive. Which I did no until a day a go. One guy just quit and we got his truck no one is is the boss. We do are job and get paid. Right.
No ! One time we got to the receiver to unload the load. They said it s going to be 2 hours wait. I tell him that. He like go put some of those trip packs together just don't sit there. What. Yea sign my name to it and put your name on it truck number. Put a inspection sheet in there to along with a seal manifest. I not feel like it.
He like why! I don't want to do it right now. He gets in the passenger seat ad starts putting the trip packs together saying its going to save us time. How! You still got to pull it out put the trip # on it and the date and time. Every thing and you got to find something to write on.
I got out of the truck and call my lady to talk to her. As An hour goes by he out washing the truck with a wash rag and a spay bottle. Wow. He got the bottom bunk and he has put dumb rules to the bunk. He is becoming a big pain.
Today he was to be sleeping put is up telling me how top drive.Like" I don't thank we should be doing 65 mph. We need to be doing 60 mph". What the speed limit is 70 and it nice and warn out side. gee!
We going to the shipper he gets us lost because his GPS is old and don't want to use my new one that is pretty good. Ive been using it threw training .
But does want to follow it. He like stop at the gas station Ill ask where to go. The gas station is to small to stop. I want you to stop. I stop on the side of the road he gets out. WOW!
Comes back and get us lost again. Now he wants me to stop a gas hauler. What I'm not doing that. There is a FedEx guy stop ill ask him. OK.
Now we get good direction to go by. Its the same as the GPS. Wow! wow!
Hes full of him self. We got in the fussing. I told him i was not going to be his secretary are his do boy. I'm not even here to bully or be bullied. Or we can go back to chatt tn and he can sit there another week to find a new co driver. And I will tell everyone how much of a pain in the butt ox you are.
He cant control me and it make him mad. I work for covenant and its covenant truck and they don't care how its done as lone as it get done. so do it your way and ill do it my way because it works to. And I'm not going to bully you in to do it. Gee wizz. -
It could be worst. I seen a team the other day and thay drive around in there fruit a looms. Or BVDS. I just don't want to know. how, what, or where. in this case.
jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
I wish Covenant had a different way to team people up. A different system, or way to find partners. They give new drivers no support. Just gathering them in a room and asking who is smoker, non-smoker and where they live is not enough... The people in charge of teaming don't offer much any help. It would help it they built a database with more info about each one and made that available for new drivers looking for partners. I've heard sooooo many horrible stories about team partners not getting along.... If it's hard for male drivers, imagine for females....
There has been an increasing number of female drivers but they suffer the most during teaming and get no support, no assistance from company.
The Challenger and big wheels Thank this. -
So its the company's fault they got a guy on the truck with him that is a slight control freak?
it's trucking this is not matchmaker. you will get 2 people that hit it off good then may get 6 weeks out together then one or both flip out. you can't predict how they are going to turn out you can not put it on the team up people to know the history and personality of everyone that comes in.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 11, 2010

You said it's the company's fault... I didn't say that.
I think if the co. offers to team people up, and say, "they will help drivers to find a partner..." then they should at least have a better way or a system in place. Such as a database with some crucial info.
The "team up people" wouldn't need to do much.
Drivers would have a password, answer a questionaire on the computer and doing so, would build the database.
Then, this database would be available only for those drivers looking for partners.
Yes, something similar to matchmaker. With some history and personality info. Why not?? After all, living in a truck 24/7 with another person is almost (I said almost) like a marriage.
If you have teamed before, you may understand what I am saying.
After surviving 6 excrutiating teaming months, my personal opinion is that companies that use teams, should accept only people who already bring their partners with them to orientation.
And if a company advertises for female drivers, then, create a list of female drivers with their info and all available ONLY for females.
I am not saying this idea would end problems with teaming. But it would help people to find more suitable partners and faster. After all, there's a lot of time and money lost when people are sitting around, trying to find someone to team up with or having hard time trying to team. Some even give up...big wheels Thanks this. -
nicely put rocks read your post about leaving u staying
big wheels Thanks this. -
I agree!!
Its the company that is making us do this mandatory teaming any way. That is if you want to make it to be hired by another trucking company after the 6 months. Even go solo with covenant. That's is if they have a opening for solo.
With all the other stress I have for all walks of life. I don't need another driver or co driver. That is equal as I am . We are both just starting out. If I was with a driver with years of exp. I would be on pen and needles. Doing and learning as much as i can.
But with a guy that is in the truck with you. That is being unreasonable. A paper work. Like which one is filled out first and wend it filled out. In the beginning or the end.
Covenant does not mandate when are where you fill out the paper work. Just as long as they get filled out.
Now I was going to do it just like my 7 year covenant trainer did his paper. But the first day this guy started dictating what and when. Which I have no problem changing the way I do things. I am very capable of changing. I'm flex able I can do one many different ways. I am man hear me roar!!!!!!
But when someone steps forward in a leadership roll. They should not make mistakes and then tell you don't know what your talking about.
This guy is making mistakes everyday. Ones he should not be doing. He does not have the paper work down. Its not really hard anyway. He has already messed up two loads.
To day is pay day. We only had two loads on this pay week. Because of the day we got the truck in the middle of week. We only got one to pay. Because he messed up. Mr paper work messed up. Again.
His driving!! We can call him Mr U turn .Can't find them grind them. Say left when you mean right. We were going to AZ. We Stopped in NM to change drives as we get to the interstate I 40, Which way do we go. East or west. Now if you are coming from VA. Which way would you go. Which way have we been going. Gee Whizz.
Its A small place to be for 5 to 6 weeks over a 6 month. With someone who is talking its my way or the door. or its my truck. Its all most like being in jail with bubba.Remember you got and well go to sleep sometime and no one around to help you. With big bubba.
So Its hard! When you feel like you going to exsoped if you don't get out or a way from this guy.
Look around where going to go. If you don't work out. You go back to Chatt. TN. To get a new team partner. Which it can that a week to get out. A week with out makeing money. Broke and broker.
But For me It was my only choose to get in the door. So I took it. Ok Ill see yall later got to go.jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
I just heard that pilot is buying out flyen js. Im listing to job interviews for the stores in AZ.
