Never knew that was a thing. I guess I could see it in a warm area year round. Only been in one in ground home pool in a very nice home. It was tap water filled and had its own treatment system, and it had it's own water connection direct to the pool.

Just makes it easier to call in a tanker if you have a large pool. Mine is 20k gallons and takes two days to fill from the tap (garden hose). Here we are charged per gallon for sewer service so it’s a small pia having to file a water abatement to get the sewer charge removed for 20k gallons.
We do have a shallow well for irrigation but that water smells like poo so it can’t be used :)

Also some areas with a shallow water table you don’t have time to deal with a slow fill. One a pool pops out of the ground that’s the end of it!

The water that they haul isn’t anything special..probably just sucked out of a drainage pond :)

Interesting. I sure would not have seen that as a big business but I bet it does pretty good in the summer time and good enough to stay open all year round. I'll make it a note to keep an eye out for those tankers when I am down that way.

The pools that pop out of the ground are they the fiber glass ones? I never been around those but would guess that could be a problem. The one I was around cannot come out unless they tear it out piece by piece. I would love to have an in ground pool but I hate the upkeep on them. Especially when you have trees around the area..

Hydrostatic pressure is what can pop a pool. Doesn’t matter what material.
Really got to know what you’re doing if you want to drain your pool here. Mine has “Dead Men” where I can hook up a pump to pump water out of the ground surrounding the pool. This relieves some of the pressure.

My pool is 7’ deep with a water table that varies from 4’-6’ depending on time of year. If I drained it during the wet season without removing the drain plugs it most certainly would rise out of the ground.

    Google pool pop Florida..

That makes sense with the water table so close to the ground. Most of my area is 30-300' so we do not have the same issues around here. I guess I did not think it was that close but should had known better in that area. you could drain a pool here and never have any issues in 99 percent of the MO I would bet.

Around here if you call the city and tell them you're filling a pool they'll cut you some slack on the sewer charge for that bill. Fortunately we have septic anymore so not an issue.

Hey, just trying to help the guy asking about Fl work. I live in Palm Beach Fl and I run power only now. I used to be leased to USA Truck (garbage since they sold out). There are quite a few brokerage firms around the east side and central parts of Florida that I run for. They keep me pretty busy. I only run FL, Ga, SC, NC, La, Ms, Al and if the rate is fair or they need a favor and it’s worth the trouble, I’ll go to Texas and back. One outfit I run for once and while is Surepoint out of Orlando. Give them a call and see if that might work for you. Lately it’s been a lot of Port work running cigars to Tampa, or beer loads, or Jet A fuel from Port Everglades to Ft Myers up to Tampa. Look around the east coast and central parts of Florida. You might have some luck Sir. Hope that helps. Take care!
