Personally, I stay away from leasing programs. They had that back in my limo days, I didn't feel like working for "free" for two years so I could "own" a 250k mile wornout & rusty Lincoln Town Car.

From what I've seen these days there's so much excess capacity out their getting Authority is more expensive than getting a truck.

Not only do they give you crap trucks, they give students fresh out of trucking school new trucks while drivers with experience get junk ones. On home time I went to the Dr, which my fm was aware of, to help with some stress I was going through. Long story short, my Dr. explained everything in a letter and the two scripts I was given were DOT legal. All of this was noted in the letter, everything but what I had. USA thinks I was having seizures due to one of the meds being used to treat seizures along with other mental conditions. Found out what they wanted was a violation of the H.I.P.A.A. law and I told safety if I was having seizures, how the hell do I still have a drivers license? I was called a liar. They wont even fire me, so I sit while I'm still discussing options with my lawyer, Dr and a court clerk. I have a case according to all of them, but is it really worth my time? Just saying, watch your butt cause they all seem to be watching ours. Drive safe..

Yeah, on the meds: I went to get my physical (2 yr. long form, etc) a couple weeks ago. I told the dr. I had a condition called Meniere's Disease. He latched onto that like a pit bull and took out his little medical regs bible from the Fed Motor Carrier Safety azzhatz. Said I was inelible to drive because Meniere's was a disqualifying condition. I just stood up, walked out, went to another dr. This one asked me if I was taking any meds (I take a water pill for the Meniere's) I said, "no." Everything was cool, I pays my $ I get my long form filled out. Watch out for these computerized medical records that Obama's pushing. I don't tell my medical people anything anymore. I'm in perfect health as the day I was born.

Meniere's disease can cause severe dizziness , a roaring sound in your ears called tinnitus , hearing loss that comes and goes and the feeling of ear pressure or pain. It usually affects just one ear. It is a common cause of hearing loss.
Scientists don't yet know the cause. They think that it has to do with the fluid levels or the mixing of fluids in the canals of your inner ear. Symptoms occur suddenly and can happen as often as every day or as seldom as once a year. An attack can be a combination of severe dizziness or vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss lasting several hours.
There is no cure. However, you may be able to control symptoms by changing your diet or taking medicine so that your body retains less fluid. Severe cases may require surgery.

And you're driving big truck? I hope you're not in my area when I gotta go down the road.

brsims: I've had it for twenty years and it's under complete control w/ water pill and diet restrictions. I don't need you tell me about it. I'm 58 years old and you want to go toe to toe I'll do it anytime. Just pm me. You won't stand a chance, you'll be dizzy just trying to keep your eyes on me. Like you said, it's a little understood condition and with that paucity of information you want to take my livelihood away.

BTW, Meadeville, PA is where my family comes from going back six generations. I thought they had better people there than that.

I posted what I found on Meniere's disease for those member of the forum who might be unfamiliar with the condition. What bothers me is that when one doctor disqualified you for you medical card, you went to another doctor and omitted the fact that you have this condition to gain your med card. Did it ever occur to you that Meniere's disease is a disqualifier for a reason? What happens on that day you don't get your water pill, or your diet is out of whack, and you get struck with extreme dizzyness while driving down the road? More importantly, what happens to that poor bugger you may have just hit? I'm sorry that your condition disqualifies you from driving. I really am. But I think you should be off the road. There are other jobs out there. Supposedly, the economy is coming back.

By the way, I'm not a Meadville native. I was born in Cleveland, and have been trying desperately to escape the trap that is Meadville since forever, it feels like.

guy openly admits he has a disease that is a disqualifier then ####### that he got disqualified from driving. so then he goes to another dr. and lies to get his job back. no wonder they are passing more and more laws to make it harder to stay on the road.
