Is that an old slumberger truck? I have a 365 over the road truck that was converted to a dump truck. How do I tell what size axle is under front? Only has the 3 leaf springs now but squats bad enough where the tires tip in

It’s an old BJ Energy truck. On the front or back of your axle there should be some numbers in the casting or a tag. (i.e. D2000F or E120X)

Did you upgrade the ps pump too? Likely going to be hard steering if not due to low flow and having a second box.

In my experience... About the only difference from a standard 12k steer and a 20k steer is the number of leaves in suspension and the tag on the axle. Sometimes the 20k has larger king pins, but not generally.

It’s a little stiff, but I do have a larger pump ordered. With two gear boxes you need a pump that can handle at least 6 GPM.
There’s a noticeable difference between the two I have. Larger drums, bigger pins

    Here’s the finished project

IMG_2467.jpeg IMG_3760.jpeg Truck sets up better than it use to. Handles like a champ. Feels like I actually have power steering now lol

Wish we could get some of that this year…been the slowest year for my dumps since maybe my first or second year in the business.
did you end up switching the pump to then?

    KB3MMX Thanks this.
