Ok so first post, and it's probably a newb post, but here goes:

I'm trying to import a 1993 FLB Freightliner and trailer, but am unable to do it myself due to passport backlog keeping me from getting one. My search skills are failing me hard, because what I'm trying to find is a DRIVER to take the truck/trailer through customs, and I can drive it once it's in the US.

The problem is I can't find any way to get this done, as all the searches come up with shipping both via trailer... Is there a way to just hire a driver to do this for me, and where would I go for this?

Port of entry is Toronto, I would be taking the truck from the US side of that port of entry.

Sorry if this has been talked about already, or I'm posting this in the wrong place!

Do you live in a state bordering Canada? If so you can get an enhanced license, which in turn lets you cross the border without a Passport, I did it to buy a FLC out of a Canada a while back. Bailed on buying the truck wish I didn’t now.

Sadly no, I'm out of AZ right now, but I am buying property in WA state, so that's good to know!

Port of entry is not Toronto unless the truck is coming from overseas. It is one of a few, Detroit, Buffalo, Sarnia or Sault st Marie.

You need to contact a professional for this, they will move it for you and make sure the customs fees are correct.

Get ahold of RJ Trucks and see if you can pay them to handle everything. They sell and export trucks to the US every week.

The customs part is already done, I handled that through a customs broker. My original plan was to drive it through myself, but passports have a crazy long wait to them, hence why I'm trying to get info on this route. The first reply handled it really, as I'm moving up to WA state in a month, it looks like enhanced ID solves all my problems.

Did you contact a passport agency to see if they can expedite the process?

Only 5 states are offering it right now according to that article.

Sure taking 45 states a long time to get with the program.

I inquired about purchasing a truck from Canada and the dealer said it would go into customs hold for up to 30 days at a yard at the border, on the US side.
