Good Morning! I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but I couldn't find the specific answer to my question. This is my first post so if there is already a thread on this subject, I apologize and hopefully the staff can move it to the correct thread.
I have a 2005 Columbia with a C-15, is the year model allowed in California without having to go thru all the CARB junk? Or will I be fined if the driver is stopped and checked? Truck runs great and doesn't smoke any. I tend to keep my guys off the west coast but have a load going and coming back back out of Ontario that I need to decide if i'll take shortly for a customer.
Any advice will be helpful as i'm digging into all this west coast regulations and so forth. Have a great day and be safe.
CARB question for 2005 model truck.

I did a simple search on the net using the word CARB and it came up with their site. You then can go to Diesel Activities then on the Diesel Programs and Activities under Mobile Vehicles and Equipment. Click Heavy Duty in use (Retrofit) Vehicle regulations. Then click Regulations and you should find what you're looking for. What I see is you need VDECS to reduce NOx gases to 40%. I may be wrong, but thats what I see at a quick glance.
Anyway it's all there and you should be able to make a good decision if you what to go into that state. -
As of this moment everything is legal except in the ports. The whole situation is a cluster***k with lawsuits galore and rumors of all the proposed changes being put on hold.

Thanks for the input gentlemen...Greatly appreciated. I've heard it was a cluster in Cali and seen a few things online about the inspectors checking at the scales. Just didn't wanna get caught up in that mess.
