Layoffs do not equate to out of business. "Bye bye" means gone...for good. As in, no longer around.
Why do I have to clarify this? *sigh* Never mind.

For the record I did not see you say anything about out of business. But anyways it is hard for a large business to go out of business completely since they are run fairly decent. They will lay people off and restructure before they die.
-
Are you implying that a shut down always happens after layoffs and/or restructuring?
-
I'm explaing that what you are looking for as a dead large brokerage is almost impossible without our industry collapsing. We have a ways to go before that happens since we have way too many trucks on the market.JimmyTwoTimes Thanks this.

That's my point. Not one major brokerage is out of business. Which is why the other two cannot give even on example even though one actually stated that as fact. And then diflected into me not understanding supply and demand (for some odd reason) after I asked for an example.
-
Why does it matter if any brokerages have gone out of business or not? I doubt it was the brokers who made everyone run out and buy trucks during the pandemic that has resulted in the overcapacity that you see now.
And I suspect the supply and demand was pointed out because people have the tendency to blame brokers for low rates instead of their fellow truckers working the spot market.Siinman, JoeyJunk, PPLC and 1 other person Thank this. -
*Spoken in a weird creepy whisper.....* "Hey, guess what?? It's working...."

Oh, for Pete's sake...

How about yellow logistics? They're not "restructuring", YRC is out.JimmyTwoTimes, Siinman, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this.

Listen mwonch, the reason everyone is giving you a hard time is that you aren't being transparent about the point you are trying to make. Based on the rest of the thread I think most of us believe you are trying to indicate that the reason rates are low is because of brokers, but we aren't certain. It might help if you clearly articulated your point, rather than hyperfocusing on large brokerages going under like the creepy kid at a birthday party that won't stop talking about his pokemon cards.
