    True very true.

But how about we do it because it's right instead of fear of consequences. What a concept!

Specifically Deals with this. On Duty Time includes this requirement.

    (9) Performing ANY compensated work for a person who is not a motor carrier.

It means that. If you have 2 jobs it doesn't matter if it requires a CDL , you still have to report it if its compensated work.

Wrong hot shot. If I drive all week and work McDonalds on the weekends I'd have to log those hours at McDonalds as being on duty.

If a driver takes a second job with a non-motor carrier, do those hours affect compliance with the hours-of-service rules?
Yes. Under 49 CFR §395.8(a), drivers must record their duty status for each 24 hour period, including all on-duty time. The definition of "on-duty time" in §395.2 includes "performing any compensated work for a person who is not a motor carrier." Therefore, all compensated work, whether for a motor carrier or not, must be included on the log as on-duty time and counted against the driver's available hours.

Keep YOUR eyes on the road. I think its fine as long as you don't do them at the same time?

I'll hazard a guess that after nearly eight years, he got it figured out. :)

If you don't say anything on social media, and don't talk about it in general you'll be fine. Of course it's probably too late for that.

    Short Haul...
    172 road mile radius
Must be released before 14 hours
Must not drive more than 11
    No paper log
    No ELD
    No 30 minute break
Must have 10 hour rest before next shift

Does that mean... As long as 10 hour break
before Monday shift he's good. No logs.

In reading further I guess 70 hour maximum § 395.3 FMCSA still applies. Not exempt from that.
