why is this transmission so hard to shift into 7th? (High range over to the right and up) if I shift into any other gear if my rpms are a tiny bit off you can feel it you need to go a little higher or a little lower and it slips right in smooth as butter. But 7th does not let me feel how close it is. So if my rpm is not at exactly the right spot and I get ready to grab 7th. It will just SMACK it right in there. It does not let me feel if my rpm is slightly off. What causes this? It has done it since new

How does 3rd feel? It'll be using the exact same gears and shift forks in the main box as 7th does.

Mine is like that if I’m heavy. I have to be real easy going in and it’ll slide right in. If I rush it it’ll kick and bite.

Yea that's how mine is. I have to make dam sure my rpm is exactly where it's supposed to be before I even think about grabbing the gear. Loaded I'm always 140k lbs
