    Never Valparaiso, DC In construction zone in below 0 temps at 2:00 a.m is the worst memory. There’s a few more times with my Truck when I first got it. Gauge was inconsistent.

    Get a Lawyer, get a Lawyer, get a Lawyer. You’ll be glad you did, especially if you get pulled over again. If you just pay the ticket and hope for the best you can forget about getting a break should you get pulled over again. There’s 2 or 3 different companies that specialize and advertise to Truckers. I had T.V.C. they beat a few tickets for me I got after I violated my own rule and just paid the first one. It may cost you $600 plus court fines. It’s worth it. Your Driver’s License is literally your License to work. It’s just as Important as the Lawyers or a Dr.s License. What do you think they’d do to protect their Livelihood? Don’t be stupid and hope for the best. It most likely won’t happen. You may set off a chain of events that costs a lot more than $700 or $800. God forbid if you have an accident, and really need a Lawyer. Whether or not you’re at fault. A clean record speaks for itself. Keep it clean at all costs. They’ll make a deal for a non moving violation. Probably improper safety equipment. No big deal. I recently got a copy of my DL. Ironically that first ticket I paid (71 in a 55) still shows up 18 years later. The DMV said it will stay on my record for another 37 years Lol. Made me think of that Permanent Record they spoke of in Grade School. Hard to believe, I know. CDL Operator moving violation in a CMV on my record for 55 years. Something to look forward to when I’m 96.

    I like @Rideandrepair 's post.

    But I'll share my advice. What I do is wait about 2 or 3 weeks & call the DA's office. Have the ADA who the ticket was assigned to, to give you a call. Just talk to him. Tell him you'll do whatever is necessary to get the charge amended. I promise you... 99% of the time, they'll work something out with you.
    Get the charge reduced to a non-moving and pay the red light charge amount.
    Sometimes they put you in a deferral program where you promise not to get another ticket in the jurisdiction for a period of time. If you do, they'll reinstate this ticket and you'll have to take care of it as a guilty charge. Otherwise, they'll drop the charges.
    They have all kinds of ways to help you. Again, 99% of the time, if you have a clean record, they'll help you out in some form. You may have to pay the $$ price, but it'll be reduced or dropped.
    You have nothing to loose doing it like this. If that dont work, follow Rideandrepair's advise and get an attorney involved.

    I know this works because I done it myself with a few tickets in at least 3 states. Its not that hard. Just call the man and talk to him.
    Tell him its your livelyhood. You could be punished at work, possibly loosing your job, etc. Don't lie, but just express your concerns & your reasoning for your call & its importance.
    The DA's office makes deals with defendants every day. Its what they do... day in & day out. This ain't something special to you. They do this everyday. It benefits them as well as you. It keep from tieing them up in court or spending time on this case when they have other cases to work. They're already over loaded.
    Just call the man.
    Again, if they wont work with you.. #1, its unusual. Secondly, go get an attorney & let him deal with it. That's what HE does every day.

    If you are a company driver fight it with everything you’ve got. If you are an Owner Operator, pay it and move on, unless your driving record is a mess.
