As you know it is not flammable but should a helo blade strike a full tank or tanker it could be an epic event.Cali kid Thanks this.

Yup and if you’ve seen “man from lox” you know it doesn’t take much and things get out of control rapidly!Dennixx Thanks this.

New Guy here...been lurking a long time. Was working out of Bethlehem, PA for KAG Merchant Gas, but KAG lost the account and Messer hired the drivers to keep them in-house.
That was a sweet gig, but you have to be local. It did involve NYC every other night, and by NYC I mean Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens in the middle of the night. Going thru Harlem at 0100 is fun times. KAG offered me OTR, but the money wasn't much to be proud of.
Anyways, I just wanted to say it was a stressful few weeks trying to get hired on to another cryo, as I live about an hour south of Norfolk, not really near any ASP. I'm 15 years Tanker experience, (12 propane, 2 acid/caustic,1 cryo), clean MVR for 7 years, and everyone seemed to have some sort of hiring freeze. I even entertained going back over to chemical hauling (no offense but Quala's suck).
About 95% sure I got an OTR job lined up here in Mid-atlantic. Will post more when I get it nailed down 100%.surf_avenue, lual, scythe08 and 3 others Thank this. -
What you think about Southern Pines?
And who is the best in training cryogenic loading and unloadingscythe08 Thanks this. -
The best training companies in the cryogenic world are
Linde/Praxair
Airgas
Air Products
Matheson
Messer
As some tend to say across the cryo industry. The companies listed train you to go work somewhere else. But thats only said Because of driver facing cameras. And all the other things that they fire drivers for.scythe08, KDHCryo and Speedy Sailor Thank this. -
AirGas has a very strict policy of putting out cones before backing or tight maneuvering.haz-matguru, scythe08 and lual Thank this.

Air Liquide was a better place before they mereged and let Airgas take over the transportation. After I left Airgas my former coworkers were telling me they started getting extra with the cones and chocks.
If you pull in to load or unload, and you parked but needed to get closer. Not only did they want you to do the first walk around with cone and chock placement. But you would have to do an lugnut inspection, and walk around, and put out cones and chocks again. Just to move the truck maybe 5 to 10 feet. And they would have this guy that others would call redshirt. He would travel the country hiding in bushes recording drivers. And suspending them.
Coworker was about to leave out. Then realized he forgot something in the terminal (he had only pulled forward half a trailer length). So he blows the horn and backs up. Mind you this guy has just completed a pre trip. While putting out the cones. Redshirt walks over with a write up. And driver gets a week suspension. At this point several drivers started looking for another company. And over a six month period they lost over half of the drivers at that terminal.
After working for the (Old Linde) and Airgas. I just couldn't understand why would they take such an easy job. And ruin it with crazy policies. Even guys that had been at these places for years were starting to second think their choice of working at these places. But mainly stayed and put up with it because trying to pay off the home, or kids in college, and etc. But man did they hate coming in every week to some new policiessurf_avenue, scott180, scythe08 and 4 others Thank this. -
I keep hearing all these horror stories, but never understood where they're coming from. We must be a lot more laid back out here where I'm from

Yup having worked for AirProducts for five years and now Airgas over a year I’ve had zero issues at either company.
scythe08, Dennixx and viper822004 Thank this.
