Had an interesting day decided to get some grub at the Flying J in Lodi,CA Ordered a meal without a salad then decided to get a salad after order put in (my mistake started here) I go and make a beautiful salad on the way to the counter to sit I noticed an insect running out of the lettuce onto the plate it sees me and runs back in, I go to my seat set down and push away the plate the sever a nice girl sees this and comes over she ask is everything ok I told here about the bug, she starts to take the plate and the little critter runs out onto the counter she quickly smashes it I believe it was a spider or a quick ant not for sure. She apologizes and ask if I wanted another salad I told here I would just stick with the cooked food. She agrees and apologizes again and promises me she will wash her hands. Here it gets fun the manager comes out of the kitchen she approaches him about taking the salad off my ticket that is his job to do, he gets belligerent with her that he had just put it on and now has to take it off, she told him again about the bug he said he didn't care. I ate my meal and when I took my last bite the manager walks right in front of me with a big smile and says "Did you enjoy your food" now he has a smirk on his face that made me sick to my stomach it was that look you would have saw if you watched the movie Waiting that the cook gives the lady after she complained about her food, I knew right then he spit in my food or God only knows what he did.

I decided to confront him about the insect, I said Conrad I noticed you never had anyone change out the salad, he said no why, I said because I found a insect in the salad and Angela the server killed it he said no it wasn't a bug it was a fly, and if it was a insect he would have done it. i said no Angela told you it was a BUG he said no she didn't I explained to him I listened to her tell him it was he said no it must be her fault for not explaining it to him, so I told him he was lying she told him standing 6 feet away from us. I said you should have changed out the salad when you were told he said NO I don't have to, I said you should have done your job and changed it and apologized for the incident. He stepped back and laughed and said NO. ALL THIS TIME SMIRKING like it was funny. I told him the board of health would think differently about how he handled it he said he didn't care and he's not changing it out. He smiled again and said you have a nice day, I said well after I call your corporate office tomorrow you won't have a nice day he smiled again and said sir I have a nice day everyday. Needless to say I got pretty up set and called him a smart ##### Pri*k and told him he was a lousy representation for Flying J. The server came back and apologized and said she was going to change it herself because he's wrong, I told her not to get involved because he would take it out on her that i would handle it. I went to the front counter and had them page the Store Manager on the intercom, at this point the sever came out and said he's now changing the salad after he heard the intercom. the store manager doesn't have control over the restaurant but he had me fill out a statement and took my number down and offered to buy my meal I told him I ate the food and paid for it even though I'm guessing what he did to my food. God only knows how close I came to going to jail, I have a slight temper problem and he pushed my limit.

This all took place because he got mad the server said because he had to go into the computer twice to make the change on my order. UNREAL!

I'm done ranting now.

 

So Jarbo you going home again?, man you spend more time home then on the road

 

did you speak loud enough for the whole restaurant to know there were bugs in the salad? you should've walked through the whole restaurant telling people there were bugs in the salad and the manager refused to change it out.

Dont you miss the days where you could take someone out behind the building and whoop the tar out of them...

hey jarbo i appreciate all the help and advice im crunchin numbers now so its possible ill b there shortly of course i have to finish training my student i have then i can show up hell i only live an hour and a half from the main terminal

Well found out the good news on it, the water pump is shot and leaking from the weep hole, but it is under warranty. It would have been bad news if it was a head gasket. We are in Toole, UT waiting for a repower then I'll take it to Freightliner in the morning in Salt Lake since they are the only ones open on Sunday. So far they have a few options on a repower but haven't narrowed it down yet.
