The non-running Nighthawk I was looking at last month just had a price drop. Might take a ride up there this weekend and see if I can get it for under a buck a CC. Be a perfect cafe racer project and any parts that are still good that will be removed during the build I can store away for mine.singlescrewshaker, jamespmack, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
Well...come day of the pour, we went into a (coincidentally the same time needed for cure) 7 days of 70 degree days. Needless to say, the crete was setting up fast and we ended up having to work the heck out of it to get it to finish. So the top part is what's popping off, and I'm trying to go down about 2-3 inches off the original 6 inches to replace the top part. I had planned to park trucks on it.
Used a 71/4" diamond blade and my B&D saw to cut around the bad areas, and just started yesterday to remove what I can that's loose, and will have to chisel the bottom level, apply some bonding agent and then mix and pour the concrete after I figure out how much I need. The one with the car near it, was replaced when the city was doing approaches replacements, so I had them replace that...but of course, they didn't use expansion paper so the older stuff started disintegrating, so that part I'll be going down the full 6 inches to replace. The spots where I already patched are holding up, but the areas around them are crumbling now, so I will have to work around them now.

In my 20's and early 30's I worked afternoon shift in the shop. I would do concrete, or roofs 6 hours a day. 3-4 days a week, in summer. Plus my 4-10 hour shifts wrenching, plus overtime as needed. Plus crew chief a race car on Friday and Saturday night and volunteer fire fighter. Now a patio on a day off kicked my butt in my 40's.Just being honest.
