I had NAL for many years as an O/O and had 2 claims over the years and never had any problems with them paying. Even now that I'm retired I can still get out of country medical insurance for myself and my wife from them until age 70 when we travel in the US..

I think part of the problem might be that hospitals in FL don't see a lot of OHIP claims. Here in NY, they see quite a few more OHIP cards, and probably know how to submit a claim. From what I've heard both from Canadian drivers as well as relatives living in ON, insurance claims in my home state in the US are easier than claims on an American insurer are in Canada. I once had a small injury in ON with my American BC/BS insurance out of Arkansas, and that took months to settle.....

If you're going to be crossing into the U.S. better be sure to have some form of supplemental insurance in case of injury or illness. The cost of healthcare in this country is a joke.
It's not unusual to go to the emergency room and get a bill later in excess of $2500. If you get the flu or anything that requires a doctor for a prescription you're better off going to an urgent careAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Everyone should read the fine print on their out of country healthcare…nobody reads fine print until the bill arrives
