going to dmv tomorrow to load up on endorsements....

    I know

    Tanker
    Doubles
    towing

what else is there and what are the trick questions?

not doing hazmat tomorrow...have to think about that one...

I think I can guess most answers, as they are simple logic....

The tests are tricky, probably the worst one is air brakes.

They like the steady light pressure answer for descending hills.

They are multiple guess but how they trick you is the most correct answer is the only one they accept, and as with the previous line its not always cut and dried.

You can take as many as you want but only one time for each at a session, if you fail one you have to go back to take it again. They do show the correct answer when they check your test.

Good Luck but its not a big deal to have to retake any of the tests, I think in some states you have to pass the general knowledge to take any more.

I was picking on you a little, and others read the posts, if you think you will need Haz-mat, thats the hard one to get, I'm seriously thinking of getting a passport, that also takes time if you need one. The others you can get simply by passing the test and getting another mugshot taken at the DMV(BMV for Hoosiers)and paying for the additional endorsement.

There is an exception and that is for oversize, that takes training and testing in addition to holding a CDL.

There's Passenger, but I think you need to have a bus there though.

Yeah, you do need a bus to test for passenger, I'm not sure about a class A for a bus, they do have articulated buses and those would require a class A with the passenger endorsement. I'm not interested in cargo that can talk, I prefer classic rock music.

Now, someone were to invent something like bus trailers like 40' long or so, that might be interesting, like those trailers that beverage distributors use. There could be an assistant to ride back with the passengers with a radio to keep in contact with the driver, so he can drive free of distractions.

25(2)+2 admitted that he was picking on you a little. Of course, you know that "They like the steady light pressure answer for descending hills" was rescinded years ago.

Your assumption is correct about the endorsement tests involving common sense, except for the HazMat. I missed three answers on my last HazMat test. Each time I have taken the test, I go back through my CDL manual and note the items that were on the test. Actually, the test could be a lot more difficult, but common sense is not enough to pass it. It takes good ol' cramming.

Final point: If you need to be retested, they will present a different set of questions.

I was driving somewhere south of Indy and I saw an articulated bus, which I assume was being delivered somewhere, that would be class A.

Think livestock trailer fitted with seats and and HVAC with windows. A train engineer doesn't operate from the same compartment as the passengers sit, nor does a pilot fly the plane from the passenger compartment, buses have alway been made the way they are now, basically a big passenger car. I get distracted by people talking, so I wouldn't care to be a bus driver. Too many people in a bus.
