I always say if a customer has a private fleet it’s almost always better to work for the private fleet then a common carrier.

Absolutely. I'm keeping my eye open and still maintaining contacts at Linde. I'm on their job email list. I had hoped moving back to the small town that I left to come to Linde, would have brought happiness, but the Cost of living is just too high and jobs dont pay enough. When your own company tells you , "Just go get a second job" that shows the mentality here.viper822004, dwells40, Cali kid and 1 other person Thank this.

The perfect response to that is "how am I supposed to do that without burning up my 70?" Because you have to log every hour you work for any company, even if that other company is not a motor carrier or if your second job is a non-driving position for a motor carrier.surf_avenue, Gearjammin' Penguin, scythe08 and 1 other person Thank this.

Unless your like me. Living in middle of nowhere Maine. Where got access to less companies. Which is why I was told they would rather me stay out for 3 weeks vs 2. Since Southern Pines flies you home. Atleast same truck and now needing to slip seat while flying to a different truck every 2-3 weeks

I'm in So Cal any advice you can give me on getting on with cryo, ? I talked to a linde driver out of Wilmington, CA he told me a minimum of 2-3 years tractor trailer experience, w/ Hazmat/Tanker.viper822004 Thanks this.

Well depends on how much you wanna commute? There’s Santa Fe Springs( Air Products and Airgas), Long Beach ( Air Products), City of Industry (Messer), Vernon (Matheson), El Segundo (Linde), Ontario (Linde), Etiwanda (Airgas).
I will tell you this, recruitment has tightened up this past year and some aren’t hiring at all. You could also work for a common carrier to get your feet wet ( KAG, LGT, Genox) etc…Last edited: Sep 25, 2023
viper822004 and Dennixx Thank this. -
Yeah I could see why they would farm out that work, Most private fleets run daycabs home mostly everyday or teams that are home on the weekends.

Thanks I'm working now, in the process of getting my hazmat/Tanker, I heard lots of good things about Linde , do you think by knowing someone that works there will give me an advantage?
-
Maybe
