I like the USPS just fine. Ups is a joke! Their customer service has a lot to be desired. They stuck a package next to the house behind our garbage cans took me 3 days to find it. Our nieghbors package was delivered to the wrong addy. He had to go find it!! Have'nt had any problems with fed Ex so far.

I put these in the order I prefer to use them. UPS does most my company shipping. They move several hundred pacages a month for us and do well. We get a couple from DHL and they seem competent. I use USPS to ship with insurance and confirmation for high end stuff that has to be there. They pay promptly if something goes wrong.
I wouldn't ship anything with FED-EX. I can not go into the number of problems I have had with them, but I can tell you this. If you are a vendor trying to business with me or mine you will use somebody else or not do business. Never ever in a million years. Their staff has shown me incompetance from the driver, dispatcher, customer service and Management on more than one occasion. Most of it falls back on the driver who failed to follow specific instructions on several occasions and the rest of the staff could not get it right to correct the problems on any occasion.
I eventually had to send a private courier to pick up my stuff at the FED- EX hub which was farther away than the original shipping point. This was kind of fun because he is a gentile giant of a knuckle dragger with a very deep voice that commands respect from any six normal knuckle draggers. He is the most polite kind guy. He just looks like he eats hub caps and lugnuts mixed with motor oil for breakfast. So the polite thing makes him extra scary. -
Are you talking Fed-Ex ground or Fed-Ex air?????????
There is a HUGE difference I've found in the searvice. Ground service flat out should go out of biz.
UPS, Fed-Ex air, and USPS all have done me well. DHL which used to be Airborne Express does not get any of my business. Well I guess they do, since they run the Trip Pak program.
A few years back I had an ordeal with Airborne that STILL makes my BP climb. Lets just say that I would never use Airborne to mail a bomb to my worst enemy because it would never get there. -
HEY!!! whose small package ya talkin' about!!!!??

When Selling on Ebay, I used USPS. Cheaper. But when I get in itmes, UPS was always there on time when expected.
DHL, Well watching the movement of a Package, via it's tracking system online, my package road around 2 days before it was delievered. 32.50 for over night and it got to me 4 days. -
I voted Fed Ex, they are the only one that is reliable where I live. I get packages when promised, and they find our house!!
UPS can NEVER find my house, even though they have directions in the computer, aparently their drivers dont check the computer. then they dont contact me, they send my shipment back to the sender. Nope, wont even deal with companies that only ship UPS!
DHL, well, the one time I used them, the guy who called me to get directions could not speak english well enough to understand me, he asked me to meet him somewhere! Anyone who will hire someone that does not speak english I will not deal with.
USPS, even though there is a post office about half the distance away from us, ours takes 45 minutes to an hour to drive to depending on traffic. Then you get to stand in line forever. But we can not use the closer post office becuase our zip code sends us to the busy, farther one. They also refuse to repair the parcel lockers that are at the mail boxes so that we dont have to drive to the post office. Just dont want to give them business for crappy service. -
Any are great IN Canada or IN the USA but if you're shipping FROM the USA to Canada, NEVER EVER EVER use UPS!!!! They will charge us a $50 "handling fee" at the door IN ADDITION TO the courier charge you've already paid.
NEVER use UPS to ship from USA to Canada!!!!!! -
I used to work for FedEx ground and they treat the packages like crap. They leave them in trailers and I can't tell you how many times I found open/empty packages in the yard and ran over by the yard goats IMO I wouldn't ship anything FedEx Ground.

That's not to say that we haven't had some interesting deliveries. One customer called in a few years ago claiming he never received his package. UPS tracking showed it was signed for by "Weber". The customer assured us that there is no "Weber" living in their household. A driver follow-up revealed that the driver left their package in their Weber grill. Cracked us up!
But what minpins said is absolutely correct! We have only one Canadian customer to whom we ship UPS, and that is by his request. It's expensive as all get-out and customs seems to fuss more with UPS than the postal service. So unless UPS is specifically requested, all packages to Canada go via USPS! -
For shipping purposes I would elect USPS. The most cost effective and frankly the most reliable.
Hauling for them, I prefer DHL. All have pretty nice facilities, or at least the ones I have seen. But DHL so far has been the ones that stick out in my mind as being a good place to deliver. Fed-Ex recently had me drive circles around their yard for over 5 hours looking for an empty. They were all backed into a dock, and instead of the yard jockey and the dispatch getting on the CB and sorting it out, they had me relay messages for hours. My dispatch would not locate me an empty elsewhere, so I was stuck playing their little games. DHL on the other hand has been a pleasure every time I deal with them.
