I will not be unhooking from my trailer again, or running anyone elses trailer again.
These any good? I don't want to keep unhooking to grease my trailer when I am the only person pulling it.

Just a FYI, make sure to measure. When I bought my new Reitnouer, I couldn't connect to it. Kept trying and trying. Jaws wouldn't lock. Finally had the dealer pull trailer in the shop and they had me try and back under to see what the issue was... Needless to say that extra .10/inch was too high. Jaws wouldn't lock... So I had to remove that from the trailerJubal Early Times, Vampire, Magoo1968 and 3 others Thank this.

I wonder was your 5th wheel plate brand new?
I think mine has some wear at 700K miles.
I accidentally hooked a trailer that was a good 1/2" above my 5th wheel, and it was property locked in. When lowered it sat right on the plate.
I did re-hook it, but confirmed the first time that the jaws were closed on the shaft.
I tried one of those ones that stay on with a ring, but I screwed it up the first time I tried to hook to it.Vampire, 77fib77, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes this was when I bought my new truck.

I ordered my trailer with one from factory and they had to put a longer king pin in to accommodate the thickness of the plate.
I love mine.Vampire Thanks this. -
Make sure you still squirt something up the throat to keep the kingpin and Jaws lubed.
