A few years ago, I went to an orientation for Allen Freight Systems in Jax, FL, a subsidiary of PAM. I left at lunch time, never to return.

We spent all morning (3 1/2 hrs) signing papers transfering responsibility for absolutely everything to the driver. The driver is fined whether responsible or not.

Examples: All scratches, dents, blemishes, etc.

Late loads even if a break down or weather was the reason.

    Mistakes on logs & paperwork.

    AND ON AND ON !

We signed our names at least 75 times. Nobody in the room was even reading them, until I started reading out loud. The other few oldtimers in the room stopped signing & started reading; the newbies kept signing.

I think there were 10 people in the morning & 4 of us left after they bought us lunch.

READ EVERYTHING with them before you sign.

Not sure if you are serious about finding a quality carrier or just someone who will abuse you.

I suppose you will then come back here and complain about them.

Time to do your homework or these companies will eat your lunch...
