    Your thread sounds similiar to my situation. Im curently leased onto a company from February that has now has their rates change more than 33% (1/3rd). I use to get a rate of $3.62 cpm now down to $2.07 cpm only a 10% fuel discount on average higher insurance rate etc. Things have sunk fast in the last few months. Barely taking home $800/week. Now that fuel went up over the last week or so I know it going to be less so I need to just find somewhere else for my truck.

    @Just_B35 --

    Just the facts?

    I think what others here are trying to say...is that...if the loads that are available don't genuinely pay enough to cover your business/operating expenses...& also give you a reasonably good profit...to (also) offset the additional hassles of being a lease-op...then it DOESN'T REALLY MATTER how good ANY lease agreement really is.

    You won't make it. :(

    It matters not:
    • how good/fair/generous any lease may be -- OR --
    • how sharp the pencil you may be using (to minimize expenses).
    Capish? o_O

    Don’t know where you found that from.But can’t be a real lp shneider statement$1800 in deduction’s ?the truck payment itself would be in $700 to 800 a week at the very least and that would leave $1000 for fuel don’t think you generate over $5000 in revenue on that little amount of fuel.Let a lone other deductible like maintenance funds escrows insurance this obviously isn’t a real settlement

    you guys deserve what you get. seriously! How in the hell, you guys take a huge responsibility of "owning" a business and run for a company that takes almost every pennie from you!!!! they tell you how much you are going to make , when you are going to run , where you are going to run and the worst part is that you believe that you have to chase miles!!!!!!!!!!! you must keep moving !!!! are you FKN kidding me????? be a driver !!! get out of this business guys. all you doing is helping those companies to bid freight for almost nothing because you are being the cheap labor for them . because of you , those companies can monopolize the freight for NOTHING!!!
    and you guys complain??? you guys blame everyone else , but yourself !!!

    Thanks, yes I own my truck however, I'm not located anywhere near NC State. I'm in Ontario, Canada. My wife and I are actually planning on moving to the U.s. because she is half American but trying to decide between TX, IN and possibly NC. For me transfer my license seems more difficult than expected from what I read online.

    This tells nothing.

    Could have run cross country load and delivered day after pay cut off then ran short runs rest of week.
    By doing that you can make statement look bigger with high revenue and low fuel costs without telling whole picture.
