Surprised Kansas DOT gave you trouble -- I don't consider it fair, but seems like they only ever bother the ag guys lol. I guess a reefer full of taters is kinda sorta agriculture though. Clean inspection is an easy way to get brownie points with safety and a nice touch to your PSP though

 

No. Id ya sit for 5 minutes it asks ya to choose duty status or stay on driving just like Qualcomm. Everything works basically the same as Qualcomm omnitracs it's just kind of a different reading display since it's on my phone. Just for yard move i don't have a slide switch in on duty mode to make it yard move. I select off duty an slide the switch to pc an notate yard mvmnt.

 

Pretty sure the only reason why he singled me out was because the trailer I picked up at Coke last Friday was missing the drivers side skirt. That or he was bored lol.

 

Just got empty in New Century and reloading Coke tomorrow at 14:00 in Lenexa. Headed to Charleston, IL for a Friday 09:00 delivery. Been pleasantly surprised for a recap week. Everyday, they've found a load that fits almost perfectly with my hours without much down time. 3600 miles on my last 8 days. After I run out my hours tomorrow, it'll be roughly 3750 in 8 days. Can't ask for much more than that -- bonus points for it being easy dry van loads all week this week.

 

Yeah, that's crazy. I don't know what a load of Hershey's Candy worth, but I'd imagine it could easily get up towards 6 figures or more depending on the specific products. Props to you for truly being 'captain of the ship' when you could've easily just blindly followed orders. Did they reroute you for the overage or are you just handing out free Halloween candy in Texas today lol?

Running with an iffy tire to get back is one thing, but I'd imagine an alternator on a reefer couldn't be more than a few hundred to have done. I'm far from an insurance expert, but I'd think blatantly ignoring a warning code could possibly cause their 'reefer breakdown insurance' to not apply.

To say it in as positive of a way as possible, Nathan and Chris are great at what they do and I'm happy when they answer the maintenance department phone number lol.

 

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want Larry's job. Have to keep accounting happy by not authorizing unneeded repairs or doing things on the road, have to keep safety happy by not letting the inspection violations rack up, and you have to keep drivers happy, but you have a full spectrum of drivers. Some drivers that can't change a glad hand gasket all the way to some drivers that could drop a transmission on the side of the road lol.

So you're just sitting there with that overage or did they have you drop it somewhere and move onto something else?

I made it to Pontoon Beach before running out of time. Thinking I'll just do an 8 hour break and deliver early rather than stressing while doing a 10. That Coke warehouse in Lenexa has a completely online check in now. Pretty convenient -- enter PU number and some other info, dock when/where they tell you on the website, and then pull on the side of the road and wait for paperwork.

 

Bit of an anticlimactic weekend load for me lol -- easy run to a little town south of Chillicothe, OH that delivers Monday morning and picks up today in Edwardsville. I'm wore out after the last two weeks, so no biggie. Gives me a chance to watch football tomorrow as well.

2960 miles + layover last week, 2760 this week, and I'll be rolling over 540 to next week. In a market like this, that'll keep me more than happy
