Correct. Owner doesn't need to be qualified, just anyone who drives doesnitetride379x Thanks this.

Yes, although be careful about what you haul to be sure it can't be proven to be interstate in nature. Roadside guys don't care too much, although they can put you out of service for not having authority but when they do the audit the will care.nitetride379x Thanks this.

Why wait a year or two? Your first post said you have enough connections to get started. So pay for your insurance, cut the the check for $300, get a truck and a driver and get rolling since you have all the answers to anyone who asks you questions. Trucks are cheap right now at the auctions, they could be more expensive in a couple years. And there’s no need to worry about self driving trucks for quite a while, driverless ones anyway. Besides, even that could be used to your advantage if they do become the norm.

I probably misspoke, by enough connections i meant a mechanic, possible drivers, possible direct customers, and a family member who owned a trucking company. I will admit a box truck is probably not best for me given all the restrictions so I will probably go cdl now I just wanted to do something non cdl. Since you know everything, how many trucks are in your fleet?

I will be driving 45mph in the left lane at all times and take my 30 min break in fuel island

I would do that with you. Sign me up, bud. I’ll lick the window as we get passed on the right.nitetride379x and Sons Hero Thank this.

Many of those high school grads that went in the Army and flight training were RIF'd before they had enough time to retire.
Rif means 'reduction in force' which means when a conflict ends, they kick people out and go back to a peace time complement.
That happened to my cousin. Went into the Army as an E-1 and was Rif'd as a Major with 17 years active duty. No pension. He got battlefield promotions to Major as an infantry officer.
The Navy ran recruiting ads for those guys. They were called OSVETS which means 'other-service-veterans' and most of them could keep their Army paygrade. I saw a lot of E-6 Army vets go into the Navy as E-6 (MA1), which is the same as Military Police in the Army. Even Army officers that were Rif'd could join the Navy as E-6.
Some of those Army vets wore the "Kill Cong" tattooLast edited: Oct 20, 2023
