Got my first taste of Peterbilt's wonderful new design this week. After I went home and got my stuff loaded in the truck, all my buttons on the steering wheel, all the dash switches, the window switches, and my AC all quit working at the same time. I called breakdown and they were gonna have me take it to Peterbilt in Tulsa, but before I could take it over there everything started working fine. I told breakdown, if it's alright with them I'm gonna roll because I need to start making some money. Hopefully it was a fluke. It did it on and off on the way and breakdown told me to just go ahead and get to Clovis and have the shop there look at it. Got there Thursday night, checked in Friday morning. Waited all day just for them to tell me they didn't find anything wrong and I just need to take it to Peterbilt for a software update. And now it's working fine, so I think if I don't turn the truck off it might stay that way, fingers crossed. I just told dispatch I'm ready to roll this morning and I got a deadhead order to Tulare, so at least I'm rolling now.
I find it hilarious how wrong I was on how to pronounce Tulare. When dispatch told me to go there I was thinking, "who's Larry, and why am I going to see him?" Lol but I kinda caught on when they said I'm going to California.Speed_Drums, Bud A., Nashville and 2 others Thank this. -
The tank wash (new terminal location) is exit 85 on Highway 99, a half mile west of the Pilot and Loves. I will probably pass you going the opposite direction tonight in New Mexico. I left Fresno yesterday and am headed to Springdale, Arkansas.Nashville and Cobrawastaken Thank this.

I don’t know exactly when this happened but if it was immediately after starting, I’ve had this problem. Before cranking it over when the truck is off, turn the key into accessory. The lights on the dash will come on, the gauges will sweep and the brakes will go thru a test. Then crank it over. If you just put the key in and crank it to start it jams up the computer. At least this is the solution I found to that similar problem.Speed_Drums, Tanker_82 and Cobrawastaken Thank this.

So is this a terminal that we can park overnight at and use their facilities? Not that I can't just park at the love's or flying j if I need to. I'm just curious.

They have facilities at the tank wash, but I would recommend the loves or flying J honestly. The wash is not open 24 hours either.Tanker_82 and Cobrawastaken Thank this.

I agree with Nashville. If you get there at night, I would drop the tank at the tank wash (you will be dropping it anyway to get a clean one) then bobtail to the Flying J or Loves. You can park at the wash if you want, but there’s usually an open spot at the stops next door.
When you get off at exit 85 and go west across the bridge, keep going past the Flying J to the next light which is about a half mile down. Turn left there, then go about 100 yards and turn left into the big dirt lot where all the tanks are. That’s the easiest way in. If you turn into the wash where the building is and try to go between it and the house next door, sometimes it’s tough to get into the drop lot out back if they have something parked in the way. You won’t know it until you’re on the backside of the building and unable to make the swing. It’s an independent commercial wash out company with a IRT dispatch office inside.
Once you’re in the vicinity, they may tell you to skip Tulare all together and pickup a tank at Vita Clean in Goshen, CA. If that ends up happening, it’s about 20 minutes up the road going north on 99. It should be a drop and hook as well.Speed_Drums, Redtwin, Nashville and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm bringing a clean tank with me from Clovis. Where am I most likely to be picking up a load out there?
