CAT 2ws Rebuild question

Put a 2ws together a couple years ago with a 1000 cam, 58's, PDI manifold and a big BW turbo ( can't remember number) and a oddball tune. Would. Turn 2700 rpm and made 804rwhp on Antrims Dyno. No smoke. Would really like some 59's as the truck doesn't see a lot of work. Hopefully with 59's and a better tune hit 925-950 hp

 

59s are a fair amount for a daily driver...but there are also 211-3025's and 211-3026's between the 58 and the 59...... But if running the cam I'd recommend 58's at the least....I know some run the cam with stock injectors....but I'm three for three...every one I've ran with stock injectors....doesn't pull smoothly in top two gears higher rpm under load.....I've got a set of 3025 s to try on the latest one.

 

Yes I am running them and so far so good with the ECM turned way down. Runs smooth while running but has a little rough idle and its definitely strong. If I had to do it over I would of kept the 58s and tuned it a little more. Those injectors are definitely overkill.
For you guys thinking of running them to get a little more. It don't work like that. There is no little with a good tune on an ECM and the 59s. You will be retuning your ECM or spending more money on driveline or another rebuild. It's massive horsepower that nothing else is built to handle unless you're building a pulling truck.

 

It's odd how some will idle fine and some will not, my buddy has a set of the 1000hp injectors in his truck along with the 1000hp cam, it has a little lope to it at first start but goes away within 30 seconds or so.

 

We had a similar issue with the engine breaking up at higher rpm even with the 58s, the bigger injectors cured that problem.

I have dynoed the 1000hp cam with 58s and the 600Stock C16 Program 850-900ish depending on the fuel numbers and injector codes you put in
