If you're talking about Portland, OR, I'm very jealous. If you're talking about Portland, TN, then I'm offering my condolences.

I'm a rest area between Chillicothe and Portsmouth, OH until tomorrow morning. Apparently, it's well known for being a DOT inspection trap according to the Trucker Path reviews. Unfortunately for them, my curtains will be drawn all night and ĺ'll sit in here until Christmas before I answer a knock from DOT on a break lol.

Sorry, had to edit that after using the search function on here and realizing DOT inspections on a break are not a legal requirement lol. That was half the reason I avoided rest areas most nights for all this time

That whole stretch of US 35 is a DOT infested place. I got my very first inspection on that highway lol. I avoided a log book violation because I got the DOT to ramble on and on about Ohio State Buckeye football lol

I been doing all kinds of different products an facilities. Last week was tied up with mostly hill pet foods. Did 2 loads for them. One to south Carolina an one to ohio. Had 16.75 hrs in detention an 1 day layover pay. Just in 2 loads. That one paid 20 an hr and 200 for a layover. My boss always takes good care of me on that stuff. This week coming up is all planned out. Deliver Edgerton Wi 8 AM tomorrow. Then come home an renew my license on Tuesday. Then 3 back to back Illinois to Indiana silica sand loads to the glass factory.

Nice!!! Setup nicely this week. I'm sitting here in Orange, TX about to load rubber for like the 5th time si xe I've been back lol. I unloaded in Waco last night. I went to both doctors Monday and they were pleased with my progress. They told me I needed to get the covid, flu, and pneumonia vaccines seeing how I'm high risk for all of those. They knew a viral infection took my down, they just don't know which one so precautionary measures say just do all 3, but one at a time. I did the covid booster first, and it's the 4th covid shot I've taken but this made me sleepy as hell. I needed a power nap just to make the 60 miles to Waco Monday night. I didn't have to be at Coke til 6 pm Tues so I slept all day Monday. Nonetheless, I'm feeling great though. Now I gotta figure out my cholesterol issues lol

Great news that your doing so well. Not much to talk about on my end, it's tough being retired after more than 45 years, I'd enjoy being back out there, but I don't think I miss it anymore. I keep up on this thread, and I enjoy reading about y'all's exploits. Hears a shout out to MDM, and Professor. Also a word to you guys that have come on board since I retired. As I have said before, y'all holler when ya come to the Wild and Wonderful. Miss y'all, love ya, stay safe and careful.

Good to hear from you brother. I got me a dog so I got a companion on the truck now. He's doing real well. He seems to be pretty smart and catches on to stuff real quick he's training really easy. His name is Jack.
