finished my 3wks friday then finished orientation today. i will hook up with trainer either this weekend or next week. i am going to make it through my 5wks then get into my own truck. i have talked to about 60 drivers in a span of 3wks and if i'm lying i'm dying, i haven't heard not ONE negative response about MILLIS and the way they treat their drivers. everyone i talked to (100%) said i made the right choice. with that kind of percentage everyone can't be wrong...

How is it going Mceheel. Congrats on the first three weeks. Did you
guys get to do pre-trips? How deep is it? I'll be there next classes. Maybe
I'll pass you in a training truck one day.

wats up kenkenni? we didn't do allot of pre-trip, maybe two times the whole 3wks. if you already have your cdl's the instructor isn't that concerned, if you don't he will ask you to make sure you know your pre-trip in your STATE cdl book before you actually go to the dmv to get your cdl. good luck with your classes man...

The pre-trip is a lot to remember. I learn better by doing it hands-on.
I will have to see if I can convince an instructor to spend more than a
couple days on the pre-trip. That should be some required training.
Or I guess I will be spending a lot of time on the pre-trip in the CDL
manual when I have free time.

    Hey everybody,
I'm starting April 5th at the Richfield school and can't wait. Anybody know if you get to choose your model truck after your training period and do they really have the refregerators in them? Im hoping to get a T600. I drove back a penske moving truck last week from Homestead Fl to Lombard IL and seen plenty of Millis trucks on 75 in Georgia. Saw a couple of T660's that looked sharp

the older t2000s and the t600s have a electric cooler that does a good job of keeping stuff cold. the new t2000s and the t660s have the real refrigerators in them. as far as choosing your truck no you usually just have to take what ever is available when you are ready to go on your own

I have been looking at Millis as well, and all of the reports I am seeing are good. One question whose answer may cause me to make a phone call or save me from making one: do they run teams?

    Thanks in advance.

    Stay safe out there.

oo buckshot millis does not run teams for the most part they are not set up for it as most of our runs are around 600 to a 1000 miles. they did have one or two husband wife teams at one time but i am not sure if they are still now. some of the trainers trucks get dispatched as team trucks but that is only in the last week or 2 of training after you have gotten your license already.
