Didn’t quite make it home (knew I wouldn’t). But I’m 5 hours from delivery then 1.5 hours to the house. IMG_6748.jpeg

Taking a break tomorrow afternoon with the wife then,,,,,,,

Trailer Tires and a grease job on Sunday along with a little shop maintenance/ clean up just in time to head out again early Monday morning.

Hope I can hold out 2 more weeks before I take thanksgiving week off? These 3500 mile weeks are brutal after 4 or 5 in a row…

A cowboy, who just moved to Montana from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud.
He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn.
When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy,
"You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it.
It would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers.
One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado.
When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together.
So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar and always drinks the same way.
He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs.
All the regulars take notice and fall silent.
When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my
    condolences on your loss."
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains.
"It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."
“It hasn't affected my brothers though."

Started working on the cabs, one observation- even though the '05 is "pre rocker switch" the dash, interior, gauges, etc. on the '01 is WAY better than the '05. Too much plastic on the '05.
The seat (Wide Ride+ Serta, leather, heat, swivel...almost perfect), the dual Moto Mirrors, loaded up dash (axle temps, trans temp, oil temp,...) are a nice bonus in the cab I got.

Direct cut to yard, no signs going east, but a no thru trucks going west. That sign my father is responsible for. Just keeping family traditions alive, certain I'll have my chance to explain myself some day.

Update on the driveway work. As planned, waited for Halloween to be over before starting to tear up that lower section on Wednesday. Just from the loose and already deteriorated top part of the bottom section, I had already filled the garbage can I was using for storage:

And still had another 6 buckets filled, and then started using the breaker to break along the cut lines area now that the concrete had a place to go away from the good stuff:

Which as you can see below, refilled the hole that I had already cleared out. :)
In the pic below, that slab that the rotary hammer is stuck in was a real pain, it was 7 inches thick. I didn't finish getting that slab broken up until today, Friday which is because when I decided to use the reserve vehicle to haul this fresh broken stuff to the dump on Thursday, I pulled into the lower driveway to air up the tires, and......found I had blown a brake line. :( So, had it towed to the local brake shop and picked it up today after a $1,500.00 dollar brake job...seems I had let it go too long. :( Main line, rotors, calipers pads...not a bad price really considering we had it done in 2008 for $1,200.00 and since then have only had to have pads and one brake line replaced a couple years back. :)...still it delayed the work by another day. Waited for the wife to come home from work and took those 6 buckets to the dump Thursday night so I could pick up the Truck today, and get back to work removing the rest of this:

Got it removed, went to HD to pick up some thin flex to use as a form, so no dig out of the sides...and put it up where we have that River rock in pics above. Used my grass cutter edger to slip in the edge, wiggle it a little and slipped the flex into the trough it made...just to hold the rock back. As I write, getting ready to hit the hay and hope to get up really early and try and get the hole finished formed, use some of the loose stuff to level the hole up to 6" and get busy mixing those 31 of 33 bags and hope I calculated right, and can get it done before tomorrow, as it appears we have one more decent day before the bottom drops out Monday, and who knows where it's going to go. :)
